General Videogame Thread

Yeah I know what you mean.ive rage quit a number of times when faced with a team of snipers all camping the tallest building with bouncing Betty's at every door,or these kids who slide around corners and you're dead before you even know he's there.
How olds far to old I'm 45
Missus thinks I'm a big kid haha
56 now, I play a bit of black ops 6 but mainly Warcraft or single player games, nothing where I have to compete with others.

Think Xbox console is dead! Made mistake buying the Xbox X when it first came out games why’s not a patch on ps4 I had before the Xbox X!

Ps6 2027/28 doubt I’ll ever buy a console again. Also steam is going to end up fully compatible with the Mac’s computers to which then you have it multi-usage not just console gaming machine!

I wouldn’t touch a windows computer utter trash!

Had my ps5 literally days over a year now, conveniently just out of warranty although I'm not sure that covers controllers anyway and my controller went from being absolutely fine to basically unplayable stick drift within the space of just 3 days playing Diablo 4.

Left analogue stick started inching to the left slightly which was really frustrating as any fast travel in Diablo requires you to stand completely still and the slightest movement cancels it. I could kind of click it in and out and re-center it and it became fine, 3 days later it has me running to the left constantly.

I think I had 3 ps4 controllers in total from release of that console until last year, which must be well over a decade, with 2 of them knackered and 1 getting a bit dodgy but still fine, had varying degrees of success taking them apart and attempting to clean/fix them, first few times I had some improvement but not a total fix then eventually after a few times repeating it, they were goners so reluctantly decided to disassemble my 1 and only ps5 controller. Around the potentiometer there was loads of black dirt which im led to believe is the result of wearing down of carbon over time. Cleaned it all out and used a alcohol wipe along the connection, then spent about an hour trying to figure out where this tiny little thing that appeared from nowhere went which turned out to be underneath the button for the microphone and not anywhere near the motherboard as I had assumed it came from.

Stuck it all back together turned it on in hope... and made it 100 times worse. it was permanently pushed left and wouldn't even move right now, did the whole thing a second time and by some miracle it's working and the drift at least for now, is gone. I suspect it will be temporary and I'll have to spend £70 on a new one within weeks but at least it's functioning for now.

They'll be a lawsuit soon enough against Sony and they'll lose. They intentionally make them prone to fail after an increasingly shorter time frame so that you're forced to buy a brand new one every year.

After playing two or the best games I've played in a while, Clair Obscure and Thank Goodness You're Here, I thought I'd follow it up with another game highly rated in Another Crab's Treasure. Whilst I can appreciate it's a decent little game, it's just reminded me that I plain don't like soulslikes. Thankfully the game caters for everyone, and let's you who out a handgun and one shot almost any boss, which I found pretty funny.

Started Bloodborne about a month ago having given up completely in the past but I reckon I’m finally getting somewhere with it

Thank goodness you're here is sensational. Very, very funny and absolutely packed with subtle jokes you will miss multiple times over which encourages numerous playthroughs.

Its the only game that I've ever actually watched somebody else play as its funnier than any comedy on television.

Probably too niche for a wider audience, can't see yanks getting too many of the yorkshire jokes but definitely deserved far more attention than it got.

I've had a dodgy PS4 controller for as long as I can remember. It's absolutely fine almost all of the time, but I basically can't use it to type. As soon as it's on the keyboard, it jumps around and is impossible to control. It does the same thing on the maps on Assassins Creed, but it's far less frequent. No issues with any other game series, so I just put up with it. Weird though.

Why would you buy another Sony one though? Buy third party. Also warranty means nothing. Electronics have to last 'a reasonable amount of time' by law. Send them a letter asking them to replace or repair it and if they refuse, get Trading Standards involved with an eventual look to the small claims court. If this is a widely-known issue, then there's no way they can claim it's not a manufacturing issue.

Loving Atomfall. Had it since release and only started it Saturday bashed 30 hours into it lol

Destiny 2 Edge of fate expansion tomorrow and tempted to buy Claire Obscure 33 excellent reviews and potential game of the year.
Played atomfall when it released, beautiful scenery and all but it was very clunky when shooting your gun.
Has it improved?
