Generation rent

London .... all these knife murders yet they’re all loaded paying high rents .... something doesn’t add up

The stabbings are usually gang on gang and concentrated in certain areas. 50 deaths amongst a population of seven million.

How about limiting house prices? How much does a builder make in a house, I’ve no idea. How can it be right to charge someone in the south 3/4 times more than the north, now before we start quoting capitalism etc, IF they really want affordable housing limit the profit on a new build, yes the building companies and stockholders wouldn’t make as much but normal people could buy them, they then gave to furnish etc which all boosts the economy. Older properties will drop in price however the market becomes more realistic.
That wouldn't work, mate, because land prices are typically much dearer in the South and they are a major determinant of new house prices.

Why? because more people want to live and work in the South. Like it or not (probably not!), supply and demand are at the root of the economy.

They're building all over the fcukin green spaces down here. It's hammering the environment, straining the infrastructure and it's not nice to see. One village near me has a population of 2,500 and they are trying to build 2,000 new homes there. That would roughly treble the population and kill its character.

Ah so it’s down to land prices, didn’t know that. They are going for green spaces here as well purely because it’s cheaper to build than clear the brownfield sites apparently, once the greens gone then what, we are proper fucked.

Pissed myself laughing! I had a load of lads who worked for me from bacup a few years back. Absolute salt of the earth but hard as nails lads and did things like kill rats at weekend. Never forget one of them picking up a scouse steel fixer with one hand and putting him in a skip. Bacup is a very special place!

Very special indeed and reassuringly scary and I spent the best part of Twelvety years of my life ferrying them home from their off licenses and public houses. Murders most foul slayings beatings and slashing's but nevertheless a quintessential quaintness and ambience surrounded the vale and in general the people were godly gracious souls who sought only to please.. And no tellies radios or central heating .. but they were happy !

I bought my first investment property in mossley for 17k! Bought it at auction and literally lived on bread and syrup for 3 months after getting it. Couldn’t even afford the petrol to go and look at it!

Squash everyone into the cities, keep population up and infrastructure down. The circle of shite continues.

Don't know about SIPPs, confuse company pensions with private pensions but still come on here as a font of knowledge!
Put all your money in one investment class and you are a fool. Diversify. Have a portfolio that has pensions, properties etc..

Er think you have me confused with someone else. I do know the difference between company and private pensions. I don't know much about SIPPS, which I admitted. I don't think I have ever claimed to be a font of knowledge.

I proffered an opinion about private pensions based on my own experience of them, because for most of my working life that was the only pension I had.

Portfolio? In my fucking dreams.
