You want a country run by Boris fucking Johnson so I wouldn’t start throwing out any words of advice if I were you.

Absolutely I do.

Boris and Corbyn should not be mentioned in the same sentence. One is an intellect, one does not even bear thinking about.

Why do you suppose Boris is odds on favourite to be the next leader? Maybe people other than me see his qualities?

Too young. So you’d like a country led by Corbyn ? Jonathan
1976 was the only time in living memory that the gap between the richest earners in the country and the poorest was at its shortest. The trade unions of this country basically created the middle class most of whom live off very good pensions created with the help of post war labour governments . do we want a return to that then ? J

Country is full of self centred wankers would be my guess.

Very glib statement.

Think he is a very decent man who has lived and had jobs, well educated and will do a great job.
I suspect you’re on the wum if you genuinely believe he’s a ‘very decent man’
That or you have never bothered to drag yourself away from the daily mail long enough to read up on several aspects of his life that show he’s anything but decent.

He has lived a life and had affairs etc - many men have. Does not mean he is not the right man to lead the country. Why someone wanting him to be PM has to be on the wum I do not know. No need for the daily mail comment either.

Anyway its going off topic so lets do it in Boris Johnson thread if you so wish.

In terms of the housing issue my opinion which I consider very valid as I make a living in the industry is as follows.

Clearly a huge social housing programme is needed.
Buy to let should continue to be made less attractive via tax and stamp duty rises. The government have already made significant moves in this area.
Use of modular housing solutions should be explored as a way to build the quantum of houses we require.
Oh and make developers have a 20% affordable ratio on every development irrespective of viability.

Lol - the same utopia that the cretinous Corbyn wants to take us back to.... 3 day weeks anyone? Filth piling up on the streets. God it’s so scary what could happen if he got on charge!!

You do know the 3 day week was brought in by a Tory government under Edward Heath

I don't expect you do as you are not very bright

And brought about by a strike-happy miners’ union. As you say, they weren’t part of Heath’s Tory government but had their skinny arses kicked good and proper by the next one.

Not really , the unions were betrayed by many of their own members who fancied a bit of " social mobility " and became working class Tories - these same people now have grandkids getting robbed blind with sky high rents ?? Funny old world !!

How very left wing, for a tory.

Did my dissertation topic on how modular buildings should be used to combat the housing crisis. Definitely something that needs to be promoted more within industry, sooner rather than later.

I find it fascinating how a country like Spain has a 78.2% home ownership rate (higher than the UK) yet it's unemployment rate is 13.9%.
In the part of Spain I live in property is cheap but increasing at about 6 percent per anum.
I do as much as I can myself so I notice the big cost saving is in raw materials, say concrete, bricks, etc..

And some of them - with Scargill and NUM at the forefront - betrayed their members to pursue their own political ends.

Who are your working class Tories by the way? Property owners? Ones who want to stand on their own two feet? Ones who invested a few bob? How utterly inconsiderate of them.
