Genesis reformed

love Genesis, were fantastic live but I just couldn't justify paying those hefty prices they are charging for tickets this time around. Have to draw the line somewhere, as i've done with other established stadium/arena acts that now take the piss out of their fans in this way.

Must confess to weakening and buying a £136 ticket for the extra date at the MEN ! Always been my favourite band so would have been gutted to miss out . Looking forward just as much to Seconds Out at the Apollo , you can never hear Supper's Ready too many times . Got a good year coming up with my other favourites BJH playing at the RNCM . Just need City to smash UEFA for the icing on the cake.............

I thin it's worth the risk. They must have a degree of confidence that Phil can deliver the vocals. If they focus the set more on the prog stuff with lots of instrumental passages rather than the hit singles, all the better.

I'm assuming none of them need the money, even though it will be a nice little addition to their pension pots, so I doubt they want to tarnish their reputations. Of course they don't need good word of mouth to sell tickets: I assume all dates are sold out; I know Birmingham is.

Sorry, Phil is well past it.

If you want to see top rate Genesis stuff from the Gabriel/Hackett era I suggest any of the following:

The Watch - Italian band , heading to Band on the Wall
The Musical Box, Canadian band, when they tour

Also, the man himself, Steve Hackett's 'Seconds Out' tour, later this year
The Musical Box are, imo, the best Genesis tribute band ive seen,brilliant..Peter Gabriel approved,at least back when i saw them over over 15 years ago as part of their world tour .Their recreation of the Genesis 1973 uk tour, with all that it entailed ...was fantastic

Some excellent tribute bands doing the rounds Dennis. Have a listen to this fine medley and a great selection of vintage instruments including rickenbacker/gibson guitars and even the king korg handling some of the vintage string duties. A splendid Job young man and take a very well earned bow.Talent personified.
