Er; okay. And?

I think the reason for the post is fairly self explanatory you smart arse.
1. No need for the personal insults. They are against the CoC.
2. Yes; I am aware that George is one of our youth players.
3. I'm not too sure about the relevance of him scoring for Crewe as regards City. Because...
4. Is he ever likely to play for us? We have a raft of decent quality youngsters on our books, who aren't getting a sniff of first team action. It's an honest, no sarcasm question so a likewise answer would be appreciated.
5. And I genuinely hope that his loan goes brilliantly and that, if (repeat, if) he doesn't continue his career with us, that he gets fixed up with a club playing at a high level in the professional game.

Report him for calling you smart.

Horrible, wasn't it? I've been called lots of things on here before, but never ''smart''.

Do you understand the relevance of him scoring for Crewe as regards City yet?

He is only 19 and seems to be developing well on loan. I notice a lot of eagerness on City's youth YouTube videos and such for the teens to play for us, and maybe one or two can at times (Lopes), but I think many need at least until 21.

Dortmund had Durm at left-back today against Bayern, who has been making his first appearances this season aged 21. Last season he was playing in the German 3rd division for their B team, same level Evans is playing at in England. I wonder if he would have been written off by now in England for playing in the lower leagues until he was 21.

Okay; maybe my choice of words was poorly judged. There is some relevance to it. However; it would (will?) be be far more relevant if he develops to an extent where he is playing regularly and scoring for us rather than another team. In my perfect world, the first team would be made up of a mixture of ''marquee signings'' along with players that have come through the ranks. Whether that will happen when the academy across the road is fully up to speed is another question. I would love to see players like George starring for us. Seriously, I would. And, as I stated in my previous post, I wish him nothing but the best in his future career (wherever that is, hopefully with us).

Here's a question for you. Why would you want ''marquee signings'' as opposed to a team full of local lads? (Assuming we're still talking about an ideal world where all of our graduates were world class).

Why does any side want marquee signings? To bring us to the attention of more people on the wider stage. Why do you think we signed Robinho when we did? It's the nature of the modern, media driven world. I would love us to do what Celtic did in 1967, namely win the CL (European Cup back then) with a team of local lads, none of whom came from over 30(?) miles from Glasgow. Could it be done now? I honestly don't know. Bayern Munich had a very good side last season made up of predominantly German players, so I suppose it can be done. We've had a couple of fantastic youth teams in modern times (the mid eighties side and the side of the mid noughties). And I would love to see it happen again (note my comments about the new academy a few posts back). And, using your example of a clutch of world class graduates, then yes. Of course, any locally born blue would love to see a team made up of exclusively academy produced talent.
