George Floyd murder / Derek Chauvin guilty of murder

That is simply not true by any historical measure.

And MLK was not the sole driver of change during that period.
No he wasn't, but he is the current topic of discussion isn't he.

No "violent revolution" ever materialised in the US to bring about those changes.

Just as the current polls were accurate to reflect the moods of the populous in current times.

The simple fact remains that MLK's message resonated with many people and worked towards achieving the chnage he wanted to see, but was cut down before he got a chance to see it. Unless you're suggesting that the American people went "well, he's dead now... I guess we'll start working towards what he was talking about!"
MLK’s complex beliefs did resonate with many people, and still do to this day.

But you are drastically oversimplifying and misrepresenting the times in which he lived, his work, the opposition he and his contemporaries faced, and the long and still ongoing struggle to realise his and their dreams of equality.

So why was the whole of America outraged at his assassination, to the point they built statues commemorating him, have a national day devoted to him and revere him as a visionary? Simple; few believed the narrative about him being the head of a violent movement.

Looks to me like your narrative is one that "all of America hated MLK", when in actuality his poise, charisma and genuine heartfelt sincerity in his message changed many narratives about race across the entire country. Many people from all walks of life rejected the mainstream media's attempts to smear him, hence his legacy. The same cannot be said about these thugs who chant "Death to America".

You're not really stupid enough to not know the difference between the opinion of someone the week they died, and after a significant time has elapsed, are you?

As time passed, people realised the COINTELPRO backed operations to smear the civil rights movement were not true, the conservatives who still thought black people shouldn't vote got marginalised pronto and the civil rights heroes' legacy grew. With that came a significant airbrushing of history and an attempt to pretend middle america was always on the right side of history.

I realise how bored I am of the narrative spoken about King. I realise that this an opinion, but it's one rooted in half truth, looking at the 'nice' Dr King that every White person felt kinda safe with.

Every Human being has a limit, a limit where when equality has been denied them, where when smiles and kowtowing and where waiting turns becomes dead ends or avenues full of horsehit to wade through. When younger generations see this shit, they tend to want to change the conversation.

This 'nonviolent' King story is a boring narrative to use...

King in Context

MLK was talking about understanding riots to an audience of social scientists.

Even if MLK had become a crazed terrorist late in his life it wouldn't change the fact he won through shunning violence.

Do you think England or another European Country is ready have a Black PM or leader, how about Germany?

Not oversimplifying, i'm cutting throught the narrative that MLK was hated by every single white American and that his murder was revered by same said communities.

MLK's dream was realised when people began treating others by the content of their character. The emergence of "identity Politics" in recent years has tarnished his vision as people once again have reverted to the concept of "white and black" instead of "American Citizens", ironically fuelled by the entitled, white middle classes.

Even Though He Is Revered Today, MLK Was Widely Disliked by the American Public When He Was Killed

Seventy-five percent of Americans disapproved of the civil rights leader as he spoke out against the Vietnam War and economic disparity

According to an early 1968 Harris Poll, the man whose half-century of martyrdom we celebrate this week died with a public disapproval rating of nearly 75 percent, a figure shocking in its own day and still striking even in today’s highly polarized political climate...

It's all getting Nixon 68.

I am not sure why you are asking that in the context of my trying to provide more historical context to the discussion about MLK and his legacy?

Do you think I am making a specific argument of some kind? If so, what argument, so I can clarify?

Do you honestly believe that white Americans had no part to play in realising or resonating with MLK's message? How do you counter for the numerous millions of Black Americans who reject or are critical of the current BLM "Violence is the only answer" movement? A narrative that MLK was opposed towards.

Maybe I shouldn't have attatched it to your post specifically, maybe more of a general question as everybody is still in the mode of Racists in America
