George Floyd murder / Derek Chauvin guilty of murder

It's not a claim though. They often are a problem. Look at Rochester. At best a bunch of cops messed up and their chiefs try to cover it up. This is legitimate grounds for Protest. But disrupting a restaurant business, burning a shop and smashing cars ARE NOT legitimate. And no one should excuse it under the umbrella of "they are opposinf police brutality.'

If X does something wrong, and Y responds by beating Z who had nothing to do with what X did. Y's actions are by definition, an act of Terror.

So we need to stop pretending people burning businesses are not a problem. They absolutely are. And the Media's pretense isn't resonating for a reason. Everyone ( I mean most people) can see through it.

What started out as a series of angry yet peaceful protests sparked by the unlawful killing of Grorge Floyd have been turned into something else by the application of intimidation tactics from RW extremists, thus provoking exactly the desired response to turn the tables. The violence has become the focus of attention, distracting from the reason for the protest in the first place which certainly doesn't help the BLM campaign.

Unless you can prove unequivocally that an attack or act of vandalism is indeed carried out by Left Wing activists then there is every possibility that it's a down to bunch of sh*t stirring Trump supporting thugs trying to make it look bad ('Umbrella Man' in Minneapolis as an example).

They were angry, but they were generally NOT peaceful. Rioting and looting started as early as the protests and we're often justified by (granted some) leaders of the protests. There are videos on youtube of the Leader in NY considering looting as part of reparations. There is the Chicago BLM lady supporting looting and trying to explain it. Squad member Ayana Pressley on Twitter urging and promoting unrest in the streets untill we are heard.l was despicable.

By the way, in a lot of these Citys there are no Right Wing opposition to BLM and Antifa. Seattle, Atlanta, NYC, etc. There were just the Protesters/ Rioters/ and opportunitist looters. To conjure up claims of RWing intimidation tactics is quite a muddling up of facts and of the truth.

Yes, it's possible some shit stirring Trumpers or just anarchy seeking agents are also at play here. There is no doubt there has been some infiltration. But, Antifa has been terrorizing for years now. Videos of Antifa/BLM beating up people are all over YouTube. It's gruesome stuff.

Whatever one thinks of Right Wing groups and their him totting Militias. One cannot deny what we are witnessing here is despicable.

Whether you think it's shit stirrers or real Antifa/Blamers. We are watching despicable people. That much is certain. Attacking people who have nothing to do with your grievances is despicable.

Antifa eh?

That well known ultra-left wing boogiman that the alt-right like to blame for everything.

Must be real because someone once wore an Antifa t-shirt at a rally that one time....

I hate to bring up Trump on the BLM thread, but I have to say that many of these BLM protests are playing into the hands of the hands of his racist base in that they all so often end up in violent confrontations that they can claim 'radical left wing activists' are the problem. and 4 more years of Trump is the solution.

Fair play to the organisers in this instance for having the sense to call this off. I hope EVERYONE from the BLM movement sees sense and stays away. That way the RW trouble makers will have no one to fight against except themselves.
Thankfully no real conflict materialised, with only a small number of BLM protestors arriving and laying signs on the steps/walls of the police HQ and a few counter protestors shouting at them. They collectively decided to end things about an hour after the limited activities began.

It is a shame that such threats of (and real likelihood of) violence were effective in stoping the demonstration, though. As much as I agree some of the BLM protests are playing in to the hands of RW groups by being goaded into violent confrontation, when protest can be stopped before it starts with anonymous intimidation and threats of harm to the protesters — and veiled condemnation from government authorities, rather than protection (as they knew one side would likely become aggressive/violent in response to the side generally looking to peacefully assemble, and based on the location of the police HQ right in the middle of a heavily touristed area, they did not want the disruption to commerce or the spectacle/danger to tourists) — democracy is dying.

Good on you, Trev.

As you can see I've checked out on trying to communicate with people that can't expand thought. There's no point telling certain people that ANTIFA is not a solid organisation that someone can single out and accuse, cos you can't really accuse an idea that takes different forms.

And that's what the RWNJs don't get.

They're not 'Proud Boys, 'KKK' or 'NRA' types of bodies with a face.

There are 'Mom 'n' Pops', young, middle class, poor, blue collar, Black, White ETC. support of ANTI FASCISM, but the RW need a face or union to recognise, so the nearest they can choose is BLM or they're confused as to where to turn.

It's their White Whale and they'll attach themselves to it.

Hope they drown in the depths with their unnecessary imaginary fight.

A couple of days ago I wanted to post about Obama's involvement in the NBA strikes. This man irks me more and more. Tim Black lays it all out for me.

Have a listen/ watch and just understand from another perspective...

The halting of entertainment would have put more power into the finding a solution towards solving BLM type issues.

Power of economy = speech.

Just the 50+ arrests last night in Portland, a night highlighted by a guy getting his feet set on fire thanks to a weakly thrown Molotov pmsl

And still 93% of BLM have been entirely peaceful, you never mention that though. Weird eh.
