I really don't like that terminology.
Why?
How would you describe a shooting like this?

The point the poster made was that White people where he stayed lived in fear of black people killing them... To which I responded, no they mostly kill other black people. Thus, the irrational belief he had was, you know, irrational. What utter drivel!
Whilst most Blacks kill Blacks, did you know that most Whites kill Whites, most Hispanics kill Hispanics and Chinese kill Chinese??
Most logical people call this phenomenon... *looks at notes*... "crime".
One learns something new everyday! Who knew...?

In relation to the incident I was referencing a young man was running away. Easier to kill the fucker rather than let him go eh?. Regarding your other video, well that has precisely zero relevance to the incident we were both originally referring to.
Good for you that you think bullets are the best answer. There was a video posted a while ago when a sword wielding "madman" was apprehended peacefully by British police. It's really not rocket science.
Almost certainly not. Was her life in danger? Why was her life in danger? Too much emphasis on compliance or death. If you can't see that using your weapon is a last resort then I can't help you. Here's a question for you. Did he need to be shot? Life is fucking sacresanct and yet it appears that it is worthless if that is the easier option. You said you had a problem with a term ("justified shooting"). That's not a reference to any individual incident. (and Brown was NOT running away)
Don't avoid the question. Was she justified in shooting that man?
Why?

You don't think her life was in danger? Wow!!! A man who has already stabbed a 77 year-old man and was charging at her with a knife in his hand.Almost certainly not. Was her life in danger? To fully answer your question, obviously there are justified shootings but in many many instances. especially in the Good Old U of SA it is an excuse. Ooh! I felt out of my depth and because I have a badge I can "justifiably" take another human beings life. It kind of helps if you are empowered by your superiors.
Q for you. Do you feel that in many if not most cases of the type we are discussing it would be possible for a non fatal resolution?
I'll give you the danger to bystanders point. But if a man known to have already stabbed a 77 year-old charges at me with a knife, I'm shooting until he is flat on the ground.Excessive. I'd first wonder why no Taser? Second question that comes to mind is why so many shots - in the security cam coverage he clearly falters and groans and she discharges another 7 or 8 rounds. Finally how many bullets missed him (even from that range ) - in a residential area firing about 20 rounds is just asking to hit bystanders.
In terms of the guy himself clearly gone postal stabbing a 70 odd year old in a shop over a face mask - just shows how the politicisation of everything in America is so harmful. I know the NRA answer to this would be she didn't need that pistol to stop him, maybe a shotgun or assault rifle is what was needed.............

Off to eat my lovely coq au vin. I'll leave you to ponder why her life was in danger then maybe we can have a discussion later. Seriously Dax. Work out why she was in danger. You don't think her life was in danger? Wow!!! A man who has already stabbed a 77 year-old man and was charging at her with a knife in his hand.
And you think her life wasn't in danger?
Damn! Here I was thinking bodycam would be a key in breaking these myths.
But damn! It seems nothing can shake the views some want to hold. Not even video evidence. :(

If she had gone with the taser she'd probably be dead now. People walk through tasers all the time and this guy walked through 1 or more bullets
Enjoy dinner DBBOff to eat my lovely coq au vin. I'll leave you to ponder why her life was in danger then maybe we can have a discussion later. Seriously Dax. Work out why she was in danger.
so deadly force is the 1st option?
In the UK one of the things said to dissuade young lads from carrying knives is that if you carry one it will end up being used. Same with guns. If your cop is armed they will shoot and kill people. Citizens of the US are happy with some strange practises.
Thankyou my friend. Sadly whilst it was nice I feel I let myself down a bit. 5/10.Enjoy dinner DBB
The first option was to order him to drop the weapons, which she did. I guess she could have then fled and hope he a) doesn't chase her or b) stab someone else. What do you think she should have done?
I think this bloke already had the intention of using the knives. I don't think disarming cops in a country where guns are a right would be a good idea. We have armed police in the UK for when nutters are running around with weapons.
The UK Police regularly disarm and arrest armed villains without feeling the need to kill them in the process.
Arrhhh! I hate it when my food doesn't come out right. I mean, how hard is it to steam Broccoli?Thankyou my friend. Sadly whilst it was nice I feel I let myself down a bit. 5/10.
