Yes I remember Keith vaguely on Yorkshire TV and I think he was perhaps even better known for his involvement in Rugby but he would have commentated for sure on Carlisle Home Games when he was with Border TV which we only got odd snippets of here in Oz.Keith Macklin was another one. North East, was he? And Archie MacPherson for the Scottish games, though he was mainly on the BBC.
I remember him picking the ball up in his own half, head down and on full power down the middle of the pitch, City defenders bouncing off him, he was a big unit, powerful and incredible pace, just outside the box he let rip with a shot in to the top corner, unstoppable.I've never seen any footage of the Regis goal in the 2-2 draw. Can you describe it? Regis was a great centre forward, reminiscent of Shearer in his 20/25 yard shooting. Just like Ian Wright he came from non league - what amazing stories they are and talk about value for money!!
City tried the same route with Paul Sugrue...........
Ugh. Mention of Sugrue makes me feel ill. Big Mal knew how to pick 'em....I've never seen any footage of the Regis goal in the 2-2 draw. Can you describe it?
