Deffo not "shite", all he lacked was a bit (ok a lot) of pace but great football brain and always gave his best in a blue shirt
 
No way was Gerard Wiekens shit, a lot of short memories on here. My favourite Wiekens moments were goals against Stoke (away) in the 2nd div and a thunderous shot from miles out against Leeds. Legend for me, gave his all.
 
I agree he wasnt shite at all.

He rarely had bad games and had some real good games.

He looked a class apart in the lower divisions sometimes. I remember a time when some other clubs were considering a big bid for him.

And he was versatile. Didn't he have a great game as a stand-in centre half at a home derby once? Was that the 3-1?

A good, loyal servant to the club.
 
I thought he was great at the time. If he was crap what was Andy Morrison, or that lanky git we got from Derby Spencer Prior? Or Jamie Bollock for that matter. Weikens was better than all of them. Oh yeh, Jobbo he was good wasn't he?

Save the Weikens campaign.
