The German keeper was calm and did not panic under pressure last night. He seemed comfortable with everything we threw at him, whereas Pickford just flapped at every cross and every shot he had to deal with. And when he did make a save he came and screamed at the defenders - almost as if he knew at that precise moment the cameras would have zoomed in on him for a close-up. A Hollywood keeper if ever I saw one.

What with MagLiar a certainty to start every game under Southgate, and Pickford flapping like only he can whenever he's called upon to actually do something, it does not bode well for old Jules Rimet in 5/6 months.

We won’t win a bean with Southgate. As long as he’s insistent on playing 7 defensive players with the attacking flair we have, it’s a non discussion. Did we get to the stages in tournaments we did because of Southgate or in spite of him.

Pickford has been good for England. Don’t understand the hate he gets. Made big saves, big penalty saves, doesn’t make mistakes for England.

True, of course.

I think Pickford is on the whole better for England than he is for Everton (a better overall defence in front of him) and he's put in some good performances over the years with some key saves, but he seriously lacks composure and his distribution is terrible.

None of the English keepers are anywhere near Neuer's standard but just a little bit of calm and a few decent passes would really go a long way.

It was peak Gundogan last night, he was running that German MF like a...well what else than die Maschine. They lost foothold when he was subbed. I really hope somebody in the club doesn't come up with the bright idea of letting him go., because it seem 10 players are leaving this summer at least.

Amazing how our players get as far as they do in competitions with a idiot like SafeSouthgte at the helm , there is no chance the F.A.will get rid of him , he is their dream manager , a puppet with zero personality.
The fact five of our players have to spend a few weeks a year under his direction is worrying , he could infliect untold damage with his tactical ineptitude.
