A really good opening ceremony can be very memorable. I think most people remember where they were during the Beijing 2008 Olympic ceremony. Blew my mind. The London 2012 ceremony I think is still the third most watched event of all time, over half the Earth watched it.

The problem with the Euro opening ceremony is quite simple. It’s always just… absolutely shit.

Olympics have a different budget though. Plus they have to welcome in 200 country’s athletes, which gets a bit tedious!

Yeah that bit is admittedly a bit slow going. Though always heartwarming to see a guy from Tuvalu in a wheelchair do a lap of the stadium.
