Gerrard on Joe.

Nice to see Gerrard big upping Joe.

Joe is fantastic, but he will always have that asterisk when it comes to his game, because, while his shot stopping is ungodly good, his kicking game leaves something to be desired. No one else I'd want between the posts, mind you, but it's true.

However, it's not out of the realm of possibility to say that Joe could still work on and improve this part of his game, right?

I also think his heading could be improved. He should have buried that one against Sporting Lisbon

The most impressive thing about him is his athleticism. That save from Rooney in the derby a few years back or that one against Van Persie a couple years ago show it. It goes incredibly well with his reflexes. It's why he's not only a great shot stopper, but imperious at 1-on-1s and penalties too.

I remember watching Joe in a pre-season friendly against Ballymena United and not being impressed with him :)

Wasn't that Joey Deacon?

WOW not often you hear of some positives from Gerrard but this is wonderful :

“You should have seen Joe Hart in training,' said Steven Gerrard.

He just makes world-class saves, jumps back to his feet and prepares for the next shot like nothing has happened. The rest of us are just looking at him, like what the hell was that? But it’s just normal to him. Amazing.

...Steven Gerrard
as Roy Hodgson said, if England are to do well then they need Joe on top form. He has become an important part of thus England team as we are so poor up front we will have to defend well and hope to nick a 1-0 win

There's not one keeper in the world I would replace Hart with, however I think that almost any club in the world would have him as their number one. That, albeit just my opinion, makes him the number one in the world right now.

Not only this, but he is in goalkeeping terms incredibly young. He probably has a lot still to learn in terms of distribution, ability with his feet at backpasses etc, but none of that means he is not shit hot right here right now. It just means he can get better and better.

And he's OURS.

And if we play our cards right we can have the bext Keeper in the world playing for us for the next FIFTEEN YEARS.

Sorry for shouting, but I quite like this :)
