Get the ****out benji

Benji is awful and looks like he is actually incapable of running....instead it's some half-arsed stroll. When SWP broke down the right hand side near the end Benji should have busted a f*cking gut to get up in support but didn't so much as even jog.

And please don't give me that 'get behind the players' bullshit. When I'm at the games I do, but I'm not gonna heap false praise on players on here !

right,
if anyone wishes to continue to post on this thread PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE post what positive, successful contribution benji had to the game last night?

to my viewing (albeit from the BBC footage) he was brought on to hold up the ball from either high ball situations or ground play.
did he do either? well yes but with little success.
however what frustrated me the most was his lack of ambition and chasing of the ball when united were playing the ball amongst the back line. i would presume he would have noticed that united where down to 3 defenders at the back due to their substituitions and if he had of chased down the ball, forced the error, and maybe even stolen the ball due to those errors, we could have scored another goal(s).
he should have said to himself, 'right im on for 15mins lets put my all into this, run my balls off, and do what i can to score another'.
i think he failed to see how much it meant to the fans last night, you would of thought he would have been pumped to show what he can do and for that i am most disappointed with his contribution to the game.

He does'nt put himself about, run, jump, get stuck in etc etc. He is a liablility, bringin him on makes us worse, and thats a fact.

I suspect that's the last time Bob will make that particular mistake. It was a great opportunity for him to make a case for himself. Instead he spectacularly blew it and sealed his impending exit from the club.

Can anybody provide an explanation as to why Tevez was taken off and Benjani brought on in the first place? Dont think Tevez looked too happy coming off either. Got a text from a rag mate saying that he thought they were going to score after he went off. Benjani has the touch of a rapist and contributed nothing imo.

If you throw Given up as a striker he won't do a good job, Benjani will never shine in such a situation, think before you post. I think Tevez was tired, to bad we didn't have pace in the end.

sadly for the lad, he's simply never been good enough
many question marks were raised when he signed for us
he was never even good at pompey
i thought hed at least put the effort in thou tonyt
just dint seem to fancy it

Good enough or not, what is completely inexcusable is not being prepared to run after things in a game as important as last nights.

Time and time again I watched him just strolling around like he didn't give a toss. Unforgivable.

Mancini is still learning what each player brings to the team. He thought Benji might do a job for us last night, he was wrong, I'm sure he won't make that mistake again. He has problems with Robinho at the moment, he'll either sort them out or leave him out. He may also have realised last night that Sylvinho isn't a whole lot of use coming on either, although he had the right idea for soaking up time (but not the legs). Unlike the rest of the team who seemed to think pumping the ball aimlessly out of the box was the best idea (I find this gameplan frustrating and heart stopping). All in all I may not have agreed with his substitutions but the result was all important.
