It was my pre wedding meal with the in laws which I ditched half way through to find a bar showing it. My Mrs was very understanding strangely.

It was my son's birthday on the day of the away leg. I did what any responsible parent would in the circumstances, and attempted to bribe him to move his birthday back a day so that I could go to Paris. He declined. Luckily I'm not at all resentful about it. Honest.

Manchester City have sold 51,450 tickets for their Champions League quarter-final with PSG – a new club-record for the competition.

Their previous high saw them sell 50,363 for the game with Juventus earlier this season.

There are now just a handful of seats left, with City's capacity for Champions League games capped at 53,000.
