Getting disillusioned by Clubs Ticketing policies.

The call centre or whatever they call themselves at the moment are worse than useless. Email Danny Wilson and include a phone number and I am 99.9% certain he will contact you and deal with it.

Update: I know there will always be thousands each week that get sorted fairly easily, I'm not suggesting this happens to everyone, every week, so there probably isn't any need for all the satisfied customers to keep posting.

I have been contacted by the club and believe they are showing what I said earlier about their integrity and genuine wish to satisfy as many people as they are able.

I will update shortly when I have spoken further, but already my faith is begining to be restored.

Sorry to have to raise anything negative about our great club, but sometimes, someones got to make sure they know fully what's going on.

I can see where the OP is coming from but if you're a Seasoncard/Citycard holder then ordering has never been easier when the online tickets section is functioning. Shame for this game that it wasn't but that's a technical problem rather than the club's attitude. What I do find strange though, with regards to the OP's situation is that they are advertising this as a 'bring a friend' game. We'll have to see how this works online in future before we can gauge the club's attitude. Does anyone know what happens when you book for a non-Seasoncard/Citycard holder online? I've never tried it. Does it automatically issue an Accesscard for that person, or a chipped paper ticket?

It's been my view for a while that the club should sack the ticket agency off and employ their own properly trained and supervised club staff to deal with phone sales. On the face of it it may seem like an additional expense but I bet they wouldn't have to deal with as many complaints and may just end up selling more tickets for games like tomorrow night.

I think the 'bring a friend' deal was for a limited period only which has now passed.

Not to worry, you can always go and watch the team you really support in trafford.

Voomer, your smart arse remark is something I find completely ridiculous, and very offensive, you must think your some amatuer sleuth or something.
Take a tip from me, do just a little research before coming out with such a mouthfull of shite, read some of my recent posts, doubt you'll have me down as a red, TOSSPOT.

Yeah but this one is total red.

Slightly out of context here but it's relatively appropriate.

I think they're right to charge high prices for the bigger games, we're always gonna get 48,000 for games against the top 8 clubs in the country and I understand that they categorise other games and charge cheaper prices which is a good incentive for blues to pop along to games like Wigan etc as we have a very strong base of working class support.

What I don't understand is the pricing for Adults in the cup and European games. At the moment I still think City fans see the Premier League as the main attraction, obviously when we get to the Champions League we'll get more people through the gates and fans will be prepared to pay more for tickets but to charge £5 a ticket for a Uefa cup 1/4 final and then charge £25 for the qualifying round 18 months later is IMO a bit daft. Lets say the attendance tomorrow will be about 25,000?

12,500 of them are adults at £20 a pop
6,250 kids at an average of £5.
6,250 oaps and 16-21s at £10.

Thats £343,750 match ticket revenue for 25,000 fans.

Now what if we charged a set rate of £10 for adults £8 for oaps/16-21s and 5 pound for the rest? To be fair i've done no research but I'm sure there'd be an increase in demand. I'd say we'd get at least 40,000 through the gate.

20,000 adults at £10 each
10,000 kids at £5 each as more will come with the increase of adults.
10,000 oaps/16-21 at £8

That's £330,000 ticket revenue.

A decrease in ticket revenue but around the ground, in the store and in city square will see 15,000 more fans. Therefore we'd have a 37.5% gain of profit(compared to having 25,000 fans) for all match day takings excluding ticket revenue and as people have paid less for the ticket they'll surely feel like they have more money to go and spend in the areas around the ground.

Now i'm not saying the price city charge is extortionate, far from it but at this moment in time can working class fans really afford £40 on a Monday and £20 on the Thursday? Not to mention people with family?

I understand that i'm pulling figures out of my arse here and maybe i'm a little naive. I've tried to implement the same ratio for attending fans for both sets of prices but I just believe the philosophy for ticket sales at these games should be stack them high , sell em cheap and watch profits fly.

Sorry for the long winded post and most won't agree but just an observation.

I take it you mean it appeared as though it could easily have been written by a red?

Well that may be the way you chose to wrongly interpret it, but sorry to burst your bubble, it isn't the case.

Or were you suggesting that you are a total red?

Find it difficult to work out what you're problem is, but sometimes if we Blues have issues we feel need debating, we do it, if it doesn't sit right with you, appologies, but I felt strongly enough to post, and at least now the Club are aware of issues they may well be able to improve.

LordE, I understand that the system is still a bit cockeyed, my dads is arthritic and paid for a parking space, got there on Monday, no fucking space left for him, but after laying the ghost of liverpool to bed we would have walked back to Didsbury. I personaly can't stop smiling as I honestly never though in my life time i would be looking at City becoming a world force. On the ticket front, Rome wasn't built in a day, burn't down in a night, but wasn't built in a day. The ticket situation is a lot better than it was, but I can seriously see the parking becoming a major issue until we sort the tram link out. I would like to think that any construction would include two, or 3 levels of parking.

No one seems to have clarified why the online system seems terminally down! A message saying 'we are working with our partners to resolve this issue' may be OK for a couple of hours, but not for weeks and months.

The club needs to give us some sort of explanation and deadline for us getting normal service.

This is 2010, and in this respect the club is back in the 90s.
I think it's the opposite, looks like they've changed their online ticketing providers hence the downtime. SO fingers crossed it'll all be better in the future from now on.
