getting to the bottom of small cup crowds

Can't be arsed unless it really matters or the opposition is of major standing.

Juventus - eg.

I was made up when I saw we were playing Juventus, I thought the game would be a sell out as Juve are one of the biggest Clubs in the world. Not the best team but a huge club all the same & I was gutted that we didn't fill the ground against them. To be fair though Juve didn't sell out their allocation either. If we want the crowds we have to win trophies in STYLE consistently in my opinion.

Juve are a big name historically but get half the crowds that City do.

Less.

i'm in the can't be arsed camp when it comes to playing lower league opposition. In order to go to a night game, i have to finish work early (self employed so means less pay or hours to be made up later in the week), so it really does have to appeal.

I'm of the opinion that i will get a final ticket for the next few years but people will overtake me and then i'll either miss out or pay an over the top amount on the black market. If I miss out it'll be my own fault

One thing I am impressed with is ticket prices for cup games. Can't remember have we alawys been so reasonable?

make the most of the empty ground now cos once we start bring home the silverware the ground will be full of welsh, irish scandic and southern chaps every game

I don't see this happening again, not like it did when the premier league was re-launched. Many glory hunters picked their chosen teams in the 90's. These were mainly the top 4 clubs who were the most successful. I cannot see them suddenly switching to City.

The fanbase I can see increasing is from the Balkans, Africa and the US, but not from the UK. That ship has sailed in my opinion.

I don't go to many cup games if I'm honest, I'm going tomorrow but only because the future father in law is coming down from Wales and he wanted to go! Otherwise I wouldn't have bothered. I haven't been to any FA cup games yet but again I'm going next week as my old man is up for it.
For me if my old man doesn't go then I don't (mid week games). It's all part of it, going with my old man and doesn't seem the same without him. Weekend games the other half comes if he doesn't but she's not interested mid week. But in honesty if it's cold/wet and were on TV then I'm more likely to stay in and watch it. Piss poor I know but at least I can be honest about it, should I go? Yes, probably but... I don't. I have said next season I'll make more of an effort but time will tell I guess.

Different reasons for me, I dont have the desire and drive that I used to have. Dont like our style of play at the moment it doesnt get my juices flowing, i know the arguement about league position & still in cups etc, still dont like the way we play.
Dont feel the overhaul cost of the match is value for money, costs about tenner petrol, fiver too park, beer & shit food another tenner, programme three quid, match ticket say twenty & 2 kids in tow, expensive day all in all.
Cant justify the costs these days.

100% money

although i like the idea of £50 (i would defo do this but not £100) added on to season card for ALL cup games at COMS and then its just a bit of a gamble if we are away or knocked out early. again.
