Johnmc - You are obviously a sceptic. But, what if you actually saw something?
I was exactly the same as you. I went to that mate's cottage laughing at the things he had told me was happening. He, and his missus made a point, knowing my scepticism, of not telling me where in the house it was happening. When I saw the 'shadow', I ran towards the spot, and searched around, convinced my mate, his missus, or someone they had got in, was setting me up. They wasn't. Like I said, I still don't know what it is for sure. (And it is still there, as the new owner called my mate a while ago asking if they had ever seen 'a shadow-like thing' in the second bedroom/landing area...) all I know is it changed me from being quite so sceptic, to thinking there just could be something in it.

I do not see how it is arrogant or ignorant. Someone could tell me a million times that there are are invisable flying pigs. I wouldn't believe them. I would dismiss it.

So do you believe there are?? Coz by your reckoning you cant dismiss it. So you can't ever dismiss anything.

For years and years and years there have been thousands of people having paranormal experiences, you can't dismiss it.
Some fake of course, but some can't be explained.

I beleive they are real but i have no scientific fact to prove that they are just like johnmc and other non believers have any scientific fact that they do not exists.

what is more important, scientific fact they do or scientific fact they dont? Take dinosaurs - there is scientific fact they existed. Not myth or anything. Fact. Now it would be ignorant to ignore facts fair enough.

I'd like to see this shadow gaudino - i'm more than prepared to be proved wrong but i seriously doubt i could be.

The notion of these paranormal experiences to me is silly though. people dressed in victorian clothes, orbs etc. If something is unproven - which it is unproven, then you will have, as someone says your non believers and your believers. I have had strange experiences but it can all be explained, no need to believe it was something "spiritual"

Scientific fact they do of course because then you can know for sure if they are real or not. Just because it hasn't been proved that they do or don't exists doesn't mean they don't. A cure for cancer hasn't been proven but i do beleive there is one - we just have to find it.

Several years ago I was on a campsite in northern France one cold and windy night. It had just started raining and there was thunder in the air. A couple of mates in the tent next to mine popped their heads in and told me to watch out because the campsite was supposed to be haunted. I laughed it off and when they left I curled up in my sleeping bag looking forward to a peaceful night's sleep. A couple of minutes later, I heard some whispering coming from the direction of their tent... very sinister-sounding. Then, suddenly, the shape of a man was silhouetted on the canvas right next to my face and emitting from it came a terrible "WoooOOOooooh! WooOOOoooOOOOooh!" I've never been so frightened.
