Because saving well and having good feet are qualities that don't just pop up in every keeper.
We are talking about a goalkeeper who saves shots here aren’t we ? Over a season j would rather have a shot stopper who saves shots .
This isn’t how you shop for a new #1 keeper though. There’s a minimum level of ability with the feet to get into a guardiola side and I don’t think Donnarumma looks close to it.
We have to filter based on that because it’s the most fundamental basic of how the team plays. Once someone is good enough with their feet, then you can look at whether they’re a good enough shot stopper, in the air, at talking to the backline etc.
These links look pretty speculative and I’d be really surprised if anyone with credibility said we were seriously after him.
The people who think shot-stopping is the best all and end all will soon change their tune when we can no longer play out from the back and break teams down, and then the best result possible is 0-0.
At least with Ederson and Trafford they can let the world class attacking players actually play to their potential and if a big mistake is made at the keepers end we can win 2-1 or 3-1.

PSG has changed its salary policy over the past two years, with Luis Enrique and Luis Compo at the helm. They offer lower salaries than before; they now offer a fixed salary and variable salaries. Donnarumma received a contract extension offer a year ago, which he refused and wanted a raise, especially after his performances in the Champions League. PSG refused, especially given the opportunity to land the future number one of the French national team.
