If we are in for Donna, then if I was Trafford I`d be gutted, as there is no way on earth he would considered as our number one goalie.
I`m not saying he would have been over Eddy, but he would have had a better chance.
Strange move if we do,but lets hope it just the usual X shit.
Do you support City or Trafford? It would still be a good move for Trafford as he'd play lots of games and learn from the best.

But even if this is true, what’s your answer in a years time when Eddie walks on a free anyway? If Trafford is the answer that’s a lot of pressure to put on him.
I'm not doubting how good a 'keeper Donnarumma is, I just don't see him fitting the club's profile for a 'keeper. I'm not saying we don't replace Ederson if he goes

Couldn’t care less if he’s shit with his feet,he’s the best keeper in the world by a mile at actually keeping the ball out of the net. Won’t happen though unfortunately.

Why is everyone so against Trafford been our new nr 1. I think that having Ederson as our nr 1 been not focused is more of a risk then trying out Trafford.
Donnarumma has never played in PL he will be pressed like hell when he has the ball at his feet , it will be a mess.
You can count on one hand, the number of teams in world football who would press us like hell. The rest would be doing us a massive favour by trying to to do so.

We just spent 30 million pounds on a former academy graduate, providing him with a clear pathway into the first team.
Now we are chasing a high-profile player that is unwanted at his own top-club for big, big money to block that path and blur the lines of the squad-rebuild even more. It feels like a United signing.

For all I know it might be a masterstroke, but it all seems a bit like we are turning way more opportunistic in the market under Viana instead of the measured almost passive style we had under Txiki. Which is well and good but also something I would have welcomed more after the treble, and maybe not something I'd like to experiment with under a rebuild.

Maybe it's one of those occasions in which something unexpectedly came to surface and we are now acting on it.

Part of me thinks the Ederson deal to Galatasaray is closer than we think as they've probably decided to pay the fee we are asking for Ederson.

I understand the points regarding Trafford, although when a player of the calibre of Donnarumma comes along you'd expect a club like us to be all over it and looks like we are.

Well in fairness keepers are meant to be great with their hands, so i'm in
A goalkeeper playing for a team who has around 70% possession probably touches the ball with his feet five times more a game than he does with his hands.

understand that but people have convinced themselves that Trafford is the long-term number 1, without any evidence to suggest he is capable of doing it.

You don't pay £30m for a keeper, give them the number one shirt and lead them to think they're the future starter just to plan to have them as a backup.

The club clearly think he is capable of it.

Trafford is good enough, he will either make it here or elsewhere. I wouldn’t worry too much about him.

I'm not worried about him. I'm worried about us potentially unnecessary dropping £80m+ on goalkeepers when our right back options are shite.

It would just be weird business.

Trust me Donnarumma would be pressed like hell, why ? because he is shit with his feet.. Its a weakness and teams jump on a weakness

I get it but I just don’t know who fits our profile. Eddie is a freak. Nobody replacement is going to be like him with the ball at their feet. The club might be forced to change?

But Eddie wont be here in a year anyway. So who is this Eddie-like replacement we have lined up? No other keeper is as good with the ball as him, including Trafford.

Wasn't that much of a weakness for PSG when they won the CL last year?

Not saying there wouldn't ever be problems, but PSG were a good footballing side and found a way to play out mostly.

This was one year ago cant see much has changed
"

Ançelotti revealed that harassing Donnarumma with the ball at his feet was a pre-prepared tactic, “We struggled to get the ball back, but with the high press we had tested out in training, we got the goal and that totally changed the game.""

Id be amazed if this happens. Unfortunately I've felt for a couple of weeks that he will end up at the rags and don't see any other destination (Chelsea maybe).
