Gigs abroad

My post seems to have gone missing for some reason?

Sat tonight and watched back the U2 gig in Rome 2 week ago. What a fucking night. The band, the tour, the city, the weather, it couldn't have been any more perfect.

Definitely doing more gigs abroad, beats going to Wembley or the etihad. I'm there enough times for city.

Wish my son had gone to Benicassim rather than YNot in the Peak District, they're cancelling bands left right and centre due to rain even though Kendal Calling seem to be coping.

Festivals in Britain just cannot attract good weather.

did less than jake with fallout boy at the irving plaza in new york, great venue

also did the style council in dusseldorf in the 80's no idea where though

Just got back from 5 week s in USA, where we saw 3 concerts, Paul McCartney in Miami, Queen & Adam Lambert in Chicago & Styx, REO Speedwagon in West Palm Beach.
No real secret to get tickets, just go online and buy them.
Much cheaper than UK.

We are going to the Ramblin Man festival today in Kent
Forecast is shit

YNot festival cancelled The Vaccines at the last minute and have now cancelled the last day entirely. Fucking ametuers. No planning whatsoever for the weather. Stages sinking, no straw to put down, zero security. Cars stuck in car parks.

Styx have been doing the rounds for years with an assortment of old shitty hair bands, I saw them with Tesla and Def Leppard, they were definately the best band out of the three

Saw Bjork and the Sugarcubes at their reunion gig in Iceland.

She sang most of the songs in Icelandic.

Did the tours of the island during the day and the bars at night!

Red Hot Chilli Peppers in Tokyo.

Coldplay in Washington DC.

Tindersticks in Athens.

REM in LA.

Vengaboys in Myrtle Beach, North Carolina (yes, really).

Muse in Berlin

Muse and Coldplay in Prague

Easy to get tickets as they are sold at lots of outlets (from tobacconists to Tesco) all around the country

UB40 playing this Friday at the Pine Cliffs resort in central Algarve - stunning location with great views on sea cliff edge next to the bars - shame I'm not arsed about ub40

I go to gigs all the time here in the States and also manage 2-3 a year back in the UK when I'm there. By and large, the experience is the same. As someone already mentioned, a good way to see some new places. I tend to be into more esoteric kind of stuff, not arena/ stadium gigs, so some of the smaller venues can be in dodgy parts of town. Saw The Fall years ago in Atlanta at a club seemingly in the middle of an industrial estate and had to walk for an hour back to the hotel at 2am through some 'interesting' places and just the other week saw Boss Hog at a club in Detroit that was firmly in the 'hood.
A mate of mine used to manage the Fall. At one gig it was pay on the door he filled the place up and fucked off with the money. I watched Mark E Smith get his eyebrows shaved off in a boozer, he rang the showbiz editor from the Daily Sport to save him.

Just did benacassim got tickets from official site.had ticket for weller at the paradiso Amsterdam but couldn't go cause of work.got that ticket from link on his official site.

Think most artists have an official page n tour page with links to tickets nowadays
