Went to the Temple that is Wembley Stadium to worship with the rock n roll preacher Bruce Springsteen last night. 39 years to the month after the first time I saw him electrify the old stadium.
Astonishing performance given the guy is 74. Played for over 3 hours without a break and sang his heart out. The E Street Band remain tighter than City’s budgetary control.
Simply magnificent.

He’s simply not human. The best live performer ever in my book.
Shook up the set list a little from Thursday night and although the second half was the exact same, I got to hear one of my all time favourites - Tougher than the Rest.
Ninth and potentially last time tonight although he did make a point of saying ‘We’re not quitting!’ so who knows…

13th time I’ve seen him. Only seen three bands more times. This may have been the last time but I thought it was when I saw him at the Emirates in Nougthies.

First saw him do that one in ‘03 and he did it acoustic and stripped back. Very powerful in a different style.

I didn’t notice but he did: there’s a clip on Twitter. Bound to be on YouTube. He’s says “this one’s for Phil” after his “1,2,3,4” intro.

Yeah, I’ve seen him do that and he played it in 1985 through 1993 but not seen full version since then.
