Gigs Thread

Interesting that. I like a lot of their music, think they are very original and different and their festival appearances have been good. What is missing do you think as I’ve been thinking of trying to go and see them soon. Guardian gave their gig 3/5 too.

I saw the lottery winners this year after a lot of hype and whilst I love the music, I just can’t stomach another night of their lead singer wittering on. Must have spoken for 30% of the gig.

their music is decent, and as i say the great stuff is really good, but i think the album falls flat in parts. Couple that with the front singer being very annoying to listen to, when she is interacting between songs, that doesnt help. Plus the gig was a shade over 70 mins :( (i know their output is only small at the mo)

Just got back from Sex Pistols/ Frank Carter
These punk rockers should be made to do conscription I don't know what the world's coming to
Saw hordes of great aeging punks on Oxford Road and sat outside Kro Bar, God Knows what the thousands of new freshers thought.

There has always been bands that are the flavour of the month.
Remember seeing Wet Leg are couple of years and they were everyone's favourite new band (mainly due to Chez- Longue).
Perhaps this tour and their next album will define them ?

Wouldn't want to spoil it but at Cambridge he sang The Whisperers and the older stuff was a bit mellower possibly due to band line up. But overall it was an excellent evening and your in for a treat. Enjoy

It was indeed a treat and everything in the second set seemed true to the recorded versions
Amazing

Final tune up before ELO

Bunch of old cunts at the hotei
They played the other week at the arena a couple of blocks away from me. Downtown was a sea of blokes 65+ in a uniform of scruffy white hair, black ELO t shirts with dandruff-covered shoulders, snowwashed jeans and white Costco trainers. It was quite eerie. Like an episode of Black Mirror.

Enjoy!

I’ll fit right in apart from the dandruff, Magicpole claims the site hair but I have the sweaty covered

I see Bruce has just announced shows at Co op and Anfield for next summer. Well, I say Bruce, I mean Live Nation. The same company who are apparently kings of the dynamic pricing, which this artist has wholeheartedly agreed to use in the past, so the sales process should be ‘interesting’.

What strikes me is we’ve lost the feature on old ads posters & flyers which as well as featuring the dates featured a published ticket price too. That’s one thing that would be quite easy to legally introduce I’d like to think please Kier; just insist ticket prices are shown in advance.

Anyway, seems an odd distribution of dates, just 2 Manc and 1 Liverpool, though tbf he has missed NW England recently I think.

I’ve never had chance to see him play an indoor venue so I am slightly tempted by Co op, though I recall last time in the rain at the Etihad thinking he was way past his best, and that must’ve been 10 years ago …

Remember stopping by Piccadilly Recorda then later the little cabin off Market St to pick up flyers for upcoming events at places like the International 1 and 2 and the Academy years ago. There were also always a few places will bill posters for upcoming events. M.E.N. also used to have gig listings for main venues.
