No. But I'll tell you a true story. I worked with a woman in the same department, who once said to me "You suppoet manchester City, don't you? Well, I was going through the attic in my late mother's house and came across a bundle of love letters to her from Joe Hayes".
She lived in Kearsley, so it wasn't just made up.
I thought it interesting, but alas she had disposed of the letters.
Joe Hayes still holds, jointly with Francis Lee, the record for City goals in Manchester derby fixtures with ten. But Hayes wins the tie-breaker because he scored another one that was chalked off because the fixture was abandoned owing to torrential rain. And while we're touching on stories about Hayes, there was an odd one a while back about an old guy in south London going round passing himself off as the ex-City forward (who'd actually died some years before).
