But we can't send them on loan forever! Guidetti is 20, had a great season in Netherlands but if we'll sign 29 years old van Persie... He'll know he has no future here. Same with Rekik. We'll sell Savic, Kolo, Kolarov... and sign other players.

Guidetti had agreat season on loan, he could move to another league, win the title again and have great experience by the time he's 21
Yes and one year left on his contract and no reason to sign any extension.

If he think to be good enough for a top team like City then he have a very good reason to sign an extension

He's been very clear, he doesn't care about the money, he justs wants to play regularly. If we sold Tevez and Dzeko and offered him the #3 spot without signing anyone else, he'd be happy to stay because he'd know he would get loads of games as the third choice striker. We could maybe convince him to be fourth striker with all the competitions we're in, but as long as we're in the business of being England's Real Madrid he's not going to be given a chance, and our other prodigious youths may also seek pastures new as Roman has.

Rekik might have a chance though because of his versatility (CB + LB), Suarez seems to be trying to convert to a winger, perhaps knowing full well we have Silva and Nasri as attacking playmakers and wanted to add another too (Hazard).

if a player doesn't care about money and titles you have to say he is an idiot and very unlikely will ever be good for top teams.

He's 20 and wants to develop as a footballer, which he can't do very well as City's 5th choice striker. He'll get paid enough to be a very wealthy young man wherever he goes, for a young player he's very grounded and knows what he needs - first team football. Developing to his full potential will mean he gets bigger wages in future.

I won't be disappointed if he's our fourth choice striker next season. He's already very very good imo, and like LC says, he's very grounded

let me be clear , guidetti (and every younger) is right when asking to go to play on loan .

at the same time guidetti (and every younger) would be very stupid when burning the bridges he has to an european top team like City in a time when he still isn't a finished and very very good product looked for by others top clubs.

Agree with the Real Madrid part we also seem to be stock piling in attacking areas without really thinking about Defenders and squad depth. With Kolo likely leaving and Savic going on loan we desperately need cover in that area.

Hurry is no use
Giudetti is young, he should get more different experience by loan
City need expienced player compete in champions league,

Giudetti need play different league by loaning > get more different expience and get the sense how to improve himself more > get the chance to play first team third or fouth choice striker and prove his ability

Anyway, I also hope City give more chance for Giudetti to prove himself, and decide he should loan (learn) more or get in the first team

I Guidetti doesnt get a chance what is the point in the academy ?

You know he would have been a starter in the Euros if he would have been fit cuz Elmander also had injury so they had to call in Rosenberg in the last minute and he started against Ukraine. I guess Guidetti will be together with Elmander competing for a start spot upfront in the world cup qualifers coming up, all he need is playing regulary in a decent league and scoring some goals.

Also he haven't touched a ball since april 20 or smth, but he have been working out hard last 1-2 weeks in gym etc with personal trainer. I guess he will have a medical with City before starting full training then start pre-season. I dont think he is ready to play the first pre-season games.

I hope we don't sell him to a Premier League team, it'd be quite sickening to see our academy gem score tons of goals for another English team after we didn't give him a single league game. A loan would be OK but ultimately might cost us when he comes back in a year's time with one year left on his contract and we still have no place for him when we sign our annual marquee striker. The pre-contract offers would roll in.

Sky Sports understands that North East duo Newcastle United and Sunderland have joined the chase for Manchester City starlet John Guidetti.

Although the young striker is set to have options across Europe with clubs from Italy, Spain and Germany all looking to land him.

The 20-year-old spent last season on loan in Holland and he scored 20 goals in just 23 games for Feyenoord.

Feyenoord would like him back, but Guidetti is looking to join one of Europe's top leagues.

Guidetti will return to City for pre-season training, but he is expected to depart the Etihad Stadium this summer.

Both Newcastle and Sunderland are ready to compete for Guidetti, but the interest from around Europe is huge.

The likes of Inter Milan, Lazio, Fiorentina, Sevilla and Borussia Monchengladbach are just some of the clubs looking at the impressive young Swede.

Bad news if he's sold. The brightest prospect to come through the academy in recent years and he doesn't get a proper chance to show us what he can do in a City shirt. It also sends all kind of negative signals to current academy kids.

Good news, I'd be happy to keep him on our side...

Why!

Whatever happens, the fact remains our acadamy has produced an International footballer, who will probably play in one of the highest leagues in world football for the rest of his career!

When a young player signs for ANY football accademy in the world, surely this is what they hope for?

We would all love to see City produce players who will go on and play 100+ games for City, and I am sure we will every 2-3 years continue to produce one, but the level we are at now makes this all the more difficult, but in No way does it reflect negatively on the acadamy!

I don't think it would have a negative effect at all.

Kids will feel lucky to attend the best and most advanced youth academy there is, and when they see players such as Guidetti making it, I don't think it matters where he ends up, as long as he turns pro and make a lot of money.

There might be a very few, who will feel unconditionally loyal to Manchester City, and kudos to them and all, but chances are they will have a future somewhere else than here with us.

The academy is a school, the best there is, so any young kid who dreams of becoming a pro who has supportive families will die to get in there.

It's a good business model as well, we keep the very very few who turns out be be good enough for us, and we sell those who don't quite make it for a decent amount.
