Give Eastlands its Kippax

BUMP !

Has anybody from any of the various supporters groups had any official input or contribution into this issue ?
I hereby nominate this topic thread starter "Immaculate Pasta" !!

Anybody with a grub related name like that has a head start on the rest of us....I can see the headlines in the MUEN now..

"Immaculate Pasta delivers the Curva" (LOL !!!! )

I feel as though I really have to point one major flaw with the petition.

The problem IS NOT the position of the away fans.

The problem IS the FACT that the south stand is now split into two tiers.

Let me explain, remember Maine Road (Course you bloody do, we all do)? Where were the away fans there??? Between the North Stand (South Stand at COMS) and The Kippax (East Stand/Singing Section at COMS). The atmosphere at Maine Road was 10+ Times better than at COMS but the location of the away fans hasn't changed.

Also think back to what the North Stand used to look like..........
maine_road-north.jpg

......It was pretty much just ONE TIER where the noise/singing/standing up/ATMOSPHERE etc etc would travel from top to bottom of the stand. The problem at COMS is that, what once was a solid block of fans now has a great big bloody divide in between and atmosphere gets lost at the top of the first tier because. The shape of the stand itself doesn't lend to allowing the atmosphere travelling up to the second tier, it's almost being trapped underneath the second tier.

The problem IS the STADIUM DESIGN and NOT THE POSITION OF THE AWAY FANS!!!!

Sorry to harp on about it, but I'm fed up people banging on about where the away fans are..... they were in the same position at Maine Road..... Wake up and realise it's the stadium.... not the fans.

Look at other stadiums... Anfield has the KOP which is one big steep Tier of Fans. The Swamp has the Stretford end which, albeit has 2 tiers, but the lower tier is Big and Steep, St James park has big steep lower tiers. Maine Road used to have big steep tiers..... see north stand Picture again. Unless our new owners decide to either A.) Build a new stadium, or B.) Drastically alter the design of COMS the atmosphere will never be what Maine Road used to be, and the Atmosphere will never improve to the level that some of you think it will by moving the away fans.

so what you're saying basically is the petition should be about knocking the south stand down and building one similar say to the one behind the goal at Goodison?
why not have done, start a petition to knock the whole fuckin stadium down?

"Immaculate Pasta delivers the Curva" (LOL !!!! )

That would be my worst nightmare :D. As i said at the beginning this is not my idea and there is no way i would like to be attached to it as "Immaculate Pasta's idea". I simply provided the avenue for fellow city fans to be able to show the club they support this idea instead of moaning about it to fellow blues. It was recently brought up at the Points of Blue meeting by the editor of King of The Kippax and the club said they were aware of it and will definatley look into it.

That is good enough for me at the moment, i don't see any reason to go public about it and put pressure on the club as they might easily just turn round and say it is not possible.

Was only kiddin' mate !!

With regard to te design of the stadium being unfavourable, well get the bleedin' builders in..I'm sure there's scope for refurb, revamp or whatever..there's hardly a lack of funding is there ?
