Give Hughes the chance to sort this **** out.

Give Hughes a season and see where we end up. The Forest loss was no worse then the Boro one last year and that was by an experienced genius of a manager. Hughes has proven that he can make a competitive Prem team with little money. Let´s see how he does over the course of a season with money.

Really? The Boro game we where locked into one of 3 spots I think in the league(2 spots realistically so was pretty much irrelevant. The Forest game was a cup game for gods sake!

Get rid i was about to give him another chance but he has yet again fucked it up

Sacking Hughes now is lunacy.

Why? What does Hughes bring to the table that is any better than the other 19 Premier League managers? He is a poor man's BFS.

Ok mate tell me what you would do at this precise moment in time?

Mark Hughes has done nothing but make excuses. Injurys, unbalanced squad etc. The balance of the squad is down to the manager and his selections at times have bewildered even the jurno's.

Lets face it Bridge is a gamble, injury prone and not really played that many games in the last 3 years. Hughes had the last say on Jo is that not what held the signing up??? I really hate to say this but he makes LEE FOOKIN BRADBURY look talented. RSC had one good season and 18 mill is well over the odds. Bellamy lets hope the little drawf does not bring his Golf Clubs and go on a Team Bonding Session to the Chinese Karaoke Bar! The players we are being linked with do not instill a lot of confidence in me.

One thing I think you can put your mortgage/rent on is Hughes is going no where. ADUG have given there word and Hughes will be allowed to try and spend his way out of the current situation. I would like to see him go , but being a realist know it will not happen. So lets hope Santa is coming late to Middle East Lands and we can move up the table and look a much more attractive propostion to the World Class Players we want to attract!

its got f-ck all to do with money finances bullshit.can anybody answer these questions

It doesn't matter what I would do at this moment in time as I'm not in a position to make that call.

If I were in such a position then I would fire Hughes. Where we go from here is dependant on who we would like to finish our program. If Mourinho is available now then it's a "no brainer". If he was available after achieving another of the goals he set himself (winning the Italian League with Inter) then I would appoint an interim manager until this point. If he wasn't available & made it clear that he wasn't interested then I would go out & appoint a manager who has actually achieved something & has a record of achievement.....Aadvocaat, Hiddink, Mancini, Rijkard, Trapottoni, Capello....there are a number of top class managers available.

The players may not be great players but they are easily capable of beating a team facing relegation from the Championship. All of us have seem them play much better and one has to wonder why they are not performing for Hughes.
I don't think that it is just tactical although he has made serious tactical mistakes. The players just don't like him and don't want to play for him. He doesn't inspire the players and doesn't inspire the fans. His body language is poor and he looks out of his depth.
Football management is about tactics and a thorough knowledge of the game but it is also about man management and getting the best from the players that you have.
I can't see that Hughes is gifted in any if theses areas.

Hughes lost 4-1 to Coventry last season in the cup. How long did he have with Blackburn sorting them out?

Hughes is a shit manager, lets stop kidding ourselves.

Totally agree.

Just a bit worried about MH tactics, however I have managed to convince myself the quality of his squad is dictating his team selections and tactics for the moment.

Others might not agree though.

didn't this squad beat the scum twice last year.

When will people realise that it isn't a whole squad of shit players that's the problem. It's a fucking wank manager!!

You've hit the nail on the head,MH is a fcking useless excuse machine.

Heard it for too long. Fed up of it now.

Yeah you have heard it for too long. You know why that is? It's because the transfer window was closed for 4 months.

It's now been open 3 days and Hughes has already solved one of our problems with the fantastic signing of Bridge. If we're doing crap in March/April and hearing the same excuses then you can't talk about hearing it for too long with your words actually meaning something.

Yesterday we had the reps of one of the bigest stars in football in Manchester what a fukin joke if you think this man can attract that type of player.
Sven would have done given the time you ask for MH

The team Hughes inherited was shite. it overachieved in the 1st half of last season and had relegation form in the 2nd half. For those who think we should revert back to sacking managers every 2 minutes what is that going to achieve? For the best exmaple of sticking with a manager just look over the City to that twat at the shithole. If the legend is to be believed he was a gnat's bollock away from getting sacked until Robins dug him out of the shit. For me Hughes has so far bought better players in than we had and with a bit of patience I have no doubt he will be a success at City. A lot of City fans are looking for excuses to get rid of Hughes just because he played for the tw*ts.

Just because we have pot loads of cash doesn't mean we can instantly turn ourselfs into Chelsea. When they were in our position they were already a top 4 side we are far from a top 6 side. This revolution is going to take at least 5 years not 5 months like a lot of City fans seem to think.

Overachieved.
Yes better squad. Shite teams sometimes beat good teams - Chelsea/Arsenal by Burnley for example.
THe fact he played for them does matter to a lot of City fans so it does wash.
Without cash we would be in administration and probably the Championship
Absloute rubbish.

Lets face it, like it or not, he's got till the summer to show that his management with his team full of his signings have made a big difference when compared to the first half of the season. If not then he's out on his arse.

I doubt there will be too much improvement myself but as always with City I will be absolutelyfeckindelighted to be proved wrong.

Were they, though?

Most of last season's points came before Christmas. In Hughes's first 19 games he got 18 points. In Sven's last 19 games he got 19 points. Seems to me like the poor form has been for 2008, not just for Hughes.

Even Pearce managed 19 points from his last 19 with his squad.
I'm sorry but I must be a bit thick....are you saying that the team that finished 9th weren't good enough to finish in the top 10? Or, are you saying that if we didn't have a dip in form when the end of year "review" was announced, then last years squad was capable of finishing higher than 9th but still weren't good enough to finish in the top 10?

I'm saying that we earned most of our points when nobody knew what to expect.

But once many of the players' honeymoon periods were over, they've struggled to hit any kind of regular form.

We looked awesome at the start of last season, but pretty mediocre for the second half of it. The fact that two managers and a whole calendar year haven't changed things make me think that last season's start might be "off form" if you catch my drift.

Nevertheless, City have been Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde for as long as I can remember. So why have we had so many managers who've been unable to sort it out?
