Given..City's best ever goalkeeper??

don't know if Given's the best ive seen yet, only time will tell.
Corrigan was probably the best i've seen for city, pity they didn't get Schemeichal a few years earlier.
for all his fuck ups,James rarely put a foot wrong for us.
can't comment on Swift or Trautman, never saw either of them play

The Bobby Mac game was against Watford and i remember it well.
So do I, also sat in Platt Lane that day. I am sure we went top that day though it was only the 3rd game of the season, and went down that season? Or was it the year before? I also remember big Joe being floored with a bottle thrown from the Kop. To be fair the nob who chucked it was "dealt with" by some other scousers. The best City keeper I have seen is Tony Coton, followed by Joe, then Given. TC was solid in all areas whereas Big Joe was decidely dodgy in his early days (before he broke his jaw and lost a load of weight!). Shay is a fantastic shot-stopper. His only problem, and its not his fault, is his lack of stature which prevents him dominating the box from crosses etc which I think also puts doubts in defenders' minds. Still wouldn't swap him for any other Prem keeper.
Didn't David Cross score the winner? Wouldn't argue about TC though I remember early on, lots of blues didn't rate him.

Cant believe Immel hasnt been mentioned.....he was class, dont know what at like The best for me in my era has to be Big Joe....was anyone on here there when he got knocked out against Watford I think it was,the old smelling salts had to be brought out,you could have heard a pin drop when Joe went down, horrible afternoon, but he came back a week or two later mind!!
I was a kid in the Platt Lane that day. Joe got sparked out right in front of us. Bobby Mac went in goal and had a stormer. Think we won 1-0. So who was our best ever stand-in keeper? Remember Nigel Gleghorn and Steve Redmond doing it but Quinny v Derby must be number one

who scored the goal V watford?

think Tueart scored the winner pal

definetley tueart . diving header at platt lane end in that watford game ,i,m sure he had come on as sub for corrigan,

Tony Coton for me. Those two seasons when we finished 5th he was amazing, used to win games with some tremendous last minute saves, seem to remember we won a lot of games 1-0, and a lot of them were down to him.

Coton went on a great run for a couple of years and in that time should really have been called up to play for England.

Definately. 10 times better than the others at the time. I think it was fucking Chris Woods that was keeping him out!

think we went top that day.1 of the best games ive seen, mainly due to bobby mac being 5 foot nothing and his unorthadox keeper skills.
