My interpretation of events.

Given is getting pissed off that Hart keeps going to the media stating he wants to be number 1 or else he wants to leave (go out on loan).

This is probably putting a lot of pressure on Mancini to pick Hart. So Given has responded by saying he'll also go if he's not number 1.

I think tbh they're both trying to insure their places as first choice but are being childish about it.

Choice for me; Given. - Watch highlights from last year.

This is about the nub of it - can't take sides on this one, they're both at it. For next season I'd still have Given, just..but for the future we've got to look after Hart, so Shay has to go.

why does he think he is entitled to a place in the side fight for your place, if he had commanded his box better rather than being stuck to his line like a startled rabbit at times last season maybe he would be a shoe in

personally don't think mancini rates Given and i for one can see why, i will not lose any sleep if JH gets the nod and Given goes

goalkeepers good for small teams. then there are goalkeepers good for great teams.
the goalkeeper is especially good for small teams when he is a good shotstopper. his small team may undergoes 20 or more shots every game.
a good keeper for a great team must be able to do other things. usually his team suffers a very few shots.
but he must know how to control the defense and should be complete.
must be good with his feet to kick a ball with precision. and must have vision becouse often he his the first playmaker. and must be able to go out on high balls.
Given in my opinion is not a keeper for a big club

IF they were two superb goalies then mancini cant fauil . any choice will be good.

Two really good posts Mancio, but think Joe will improve as his experiance grows and Given is as good as he's going to be. Really pissed off that Given is giving Sky ammunition "and for that reason I'm out"

Hilarious thread this, Hart demands to start and isn't he great, a sign of his drive and ambition. Given demands to start and he can fuck off. Hart has been whinging non stop for months now while Given has kept his head low and gone about his business, I don't blame him at all for fighting his corner. Given's a team player and wouldn't have opened his mouth if it wasn't for Hart's inability to shut his.

these just sprang to mind straight away, i'm sure there's a hell of a lot more if i spent any time to think about it.
now i'm sure ur going to disagree with robinson and say he wasn't very good sabster, but he burst on to the scene a lot younger than hart and was way ahead of him age wise in terms of ability, oh, and so did and was given.

He can go if he wants, he's not that good and we can buy better and younger than him.

These players need to learn they aren't bigger than the club.

I said it 7 or 8 months ago when the Given bashing began that if we're crazy enough to get rid of him Wenger will snap him up. I stand by that, he will be an arsenal player if he doesn't start, guaranteed. Hope Hart is as good as the Given bashers say he is, he's flapping and lack of experience doesn't fill me with confidence.

But Hart is withouta doubt somewhat better than Given, so why should he wait on the bench just because he is young.

He's arguably slightly better than Given but i don't see enough of both of them to say for certain but all clubs have good young players yet they don't expect to be playing every week.
