Given the job to just tick a box

Her very first words to me was " your breaking the law not wearing your highviz !"

We had a similar situation at my work, a new 'boss' came in and was going round stepping on everyones toes - I don't mean metaphorically - actually stepping on peoples toes to check they were wearing steel-capped safety boots!

I do sometimes shake my head and say to myself "its H & S gone mad...." however I wouldn't like to work in other parts of the world (or Britain a hundred years ago) where workplace injuries and fatalities are frequent. Having said that, some 'managers' just love to use H & S as a tool to weald power.

In respect to the op and this persons particular problems: I would be very cautious of bringing the gender issue up when any grievance is made. Stick to the facts and the mistakes made and also make sure you yourself stick to company policy (eg the highviz rule). How can you be critical of others if you are not perfect yourself? It might very well be a 'box-ticking' recruitment decision possibly because in the past golf-clubs had something of an issue with being male-dominated environments* But don't bring that up, you can't in 2022.

*I was a member of one in the 1980s, there were two bars one of which women were not even allowed to go into - except staff of course, to serve tea and sandwiches!

Thing have taken a turn for the worse.

In a team meeting the young lad was trying to make a point. The lady in question kept talking over him and he got annoyed. The clerk than asked the young lad to speak he said ' as I was saying before I was rudely interrupted ".

When finished the clerk as the lady for her views on his idea, she responded by saying ' I wasnt listening I was to shocked'.

She than turned on the waterworks with the upper management.

She put in a 3 page formal complaint about the lad stating bulling and aggression to name a few.

The lad had a meeting today ( informal ) to find out his side of this. It seems the complaint we be going a head.

The lady hasnt been seen at work today as she seems to be hiding from the lad. Even her ( our ) boss doesnt know where she is ! I have worked with this lad for over 3 years now and he is a smashing lad works hard etc.

It seems this women is allowed to upset and annoy everyone but if someone say anything to her she will put in a formal complaint.

I cant believe that someone just saying ' before I was rudely interrupted ' and result in this.

I will be going in with him at his next hearing and we will be getting in touch with our union.

Where the fuck do you work? Sounds like an absolute shambles.

Kick her in the fanny and tell her to go and report that. Stick her shoes in the cement mixer and throw her phone off the nearest scaffolding.

Tell her it's character building.

I wont name where I work ;) but the said lady is very friendly with certain people who make the decisions. Like in the same community groups and socially

To be honest this stinks and she has avoided the work yard all day

Tough one mate. I am in the same line of work and would love to say that she will be rumbled eventually, but I've found out from various useless twats over the years that the golf course is a wonderful place to look busy but actually do fuck all.

Ok this isnt very pc but we were told by lots of people that company would be employing a woman to work on the manual side of the job. At the same level as me. We manage what we are doing and over see the team. Plus train the lads etc

Not a problem.

Thing is she has never managed people, never done manual work, doesnt know how to start a lawnmower or strimmer, change a tap the list goes on.

The younger lads dont respect or respond to her as if she works with them she spends most of the time on the phone or talking to the public.

She sends text messages and emails at all times of day and night. Sent one today to the boss at 6:50am ! Boss doesnt start toll 9am ! I got at text gone 10pm we finish at 4pm . She runs volunteers groups and thinks work is run the same :(

She and the two young lads have always been locking horns. Her very first words to me was " your breaking the law not wearing your highviz !"

I just laughed and said " since when isnt the law if the land that I have to wear highviz ? It's against comp policy not the law" . We are meant to be equal that that's how she spoke to me lol.

She has never managed anywhere and hasn't worked for decades ! I have managed golf clubs teams for over 30 years !

She has no clue on health and safety etc.

I think you get !

The other day she put the water works on and was sent home because in a team meeting. As usual she kept speaking over everyone else.
When the clerk asked a lad what he was saying he said " well before I was interrupted " . She was than asked what she thought of the lads idea, response " I wasnt listening I was to shocked ".

This lead to her water works and being sent home.

Its not her fault she cant do the job and hasnt got a clue about H&S or how to manage people.

But if she tried it would help. I have reported to the management all this. That roles need clear lines, it now seems they are moving her sideways and making her a job role.

I dont care what you are in your personal life as long as you can do the job you are employed for. One good lad has left because he cant stand the way she gets away with only doing about an hour day.

This is really causing bad blood now.

Has your employer just employed someone to just tick boxes.

Vids?

Fucking hell, sounds like a right nightmare. We had a kid come in wearing a rag shirt in an attempt to be funny.
He wasn't laughing when we ripped it off his back and set fire to it (actually he was).
Three page report that.
