Glad this passing back nonsense has stopped

We should buy Kasper back, he was great today. Snuffed out chances before they came to anything, commanded box very well and has a good throw and pass - GET IT SORTED PEP!!!!
During the game I was wondering whether Kasper could be a Pep type keeper - remembering that stunning performance for us against the vermin in his first season. He looks quite small against the background of the goal, but against us he kicked it long, long, long. He's an excellent goalkeeper, but I'm not sure he's Pep's type. Pickford is another one who is small in goalkeeping terms - even smaller than Kasper. Yes, I'm a big Joe fan (argued that one to death) but he always looks big in the goal.

Opinions mate. I actually think he's 10x better than what we have at the moment unless we bring Joe back which looks very unlikely
Joe ain't coming back. Currently, he's the only goalkeeper in European World Cup qualifying yet to concede a single goal behind a defence no-one rates as much above average. Six more international clean sheets than Neuer in six fewer games - Neuer has spent his entire international career behind world class defenders - Joe hasn't. All the big teams play minnows so it's a fair comparison. Golden Gloves four years out of five - out-performed De Gea and co on that front for five years, but there is a slice of the population that always want to slag him off. Clean sheets win points - shots to saves ratios can be skewed - i.e. save ten crap shots and you're up there top of the stats.

Neuer drops a clanger every time I see him play - commentators make excuses for him - Lineker must have said "shows he's human" more times than I care to remember. De Gea sticks a leg out and commentator froths at the mouth.

Really? U not see his kicks today? There was one long ball he did to vardy that even city fans around me started clapping

And did you see the long kick from Kasper that went straight for a throw in to us. He's good but no better than Joe Hart.

When John Stones & Bravo were playing they could do umpteem passes to each other which put us under all sorts of shit .their goaily however put us under all sorts of pressure with quick throws & long kicks

As Pep has said, if you're doing umpteen passes back there you're doing it wrong. That isn't what he wants.

There is nothing wrong with playing back to the keeper. The problem was it never felt like the players had a plan on what to do next. Where that issue stemmed from is hard to say (lack of intuition, lack of knowledge, lack of fight to get open for an outlet pass, etc.) but I assume we'll see more of it next year with another offseason and perhaps better equipped players to get it right.
