Just back from some liquid refreshment down Ashton Lane. No bother with City shirts. Old firm shirts are a big no-no. Jinty McGuinty's bar staff say we are more than welcome and promoted the use of the beer garden aswell. So Ashton lane it is then.....

Thats great news waterfoot. Jinty's is a class wee pub. Whats the bit called across from Vodka Wodka? Up the stairs. That bits class anaw. Ashton Lane really is a good knees up and im sure after this occasion, they'll welcome City fans back with open arms :)

I'm a Rangers fan who was in there last year and can say that 1000s of idiots came down that day and tarnished are name with that shit and I'm glad the police never let it lie and got most of them.
No clubs perfect alot of rangers fans like my self were embarrassed by what happened.

It should be a good run out for both clubs cant wait 100% going to be there :)

Ricster, do you mean next to the cinema, I think that's called the Loft. I have been in the place below it,the Lane it's a bit trendy for me. I might try a sherbert in the Loft when the blues come to town though, if I can prise myself out of Jinty's.

The game against Rangers is on but the date cannot be confirmed until Celtic's champions league game is confirmed.

Third qualifying round, 2nd leg 04/05.08.2009

If Celtic are away then it will not be an issue but if they are at home it will be the Tuesday or Wednesday. Once that is sorted the day will be confirmed.

If Celtic are at home on the 4th we will play Rangers on the 5th. The police will not have Celtic and Rangers playing on the same night. If Celtic are at home on the 5th we will play Rangers on the 4th.

I hope that makes sense.

Personally I wouldn't be giving these drum-beating sectarian throwbacks one penny of my hard-earned cash, and have no desire whatsoever for a love-in with a bunch of mindless drunken cretins who wrecked my City 'cos the telly broke.

Fuckin grow up will you, anyone with a brain knows that out of 150,000 Rangers fans that visited Manchester only a handful caused trouble and they were renounced by the overwhelming majority.

didnt a mancunian get lifted last week for this too

i met 100s of rangers fans over the few days they were here , and they were spot on with us we had a good drink and a laugh

The draw is on the 17th July, so I guess we will have to wait until then for conformation.
