Glass Tunnel now taking shape

Security checks were extra vigilant today. Maybe there were some concerns?
May be I've got an honest looking face but there was pretty much NO security checking going on a E by the time we reached the silly table.
And I still say its all pointless if you come in after kickoff with noone there - a few games back I got in with a 20" inch pizza in its box after kickoff with not a soul to be seen in a yellow jacket, it was a struggle to jam it through the turnstile it was that big - someone planning something nasty could have had some serious kit inside a box that big...

A 20 inch pizza? Didn't even know they did them? All for you?? Where did you buy it and why were you taking it late into the game?

Fascinating.

And you carried this 20 inch pizza box all the way from Clayton to the game? Did you finish the twenty inch pizza? And how much was it? Maybe squirty should go there so he doesn't need to eat at the match? Problem solved!

I had a big Aldi bag with a laptop wires and clothes in. And a pot noodle. Was checked twice before ground which I thought was good security as it did look a bit suspect tbf.

Inside the ground there were a few fearful looks.

Was it a Bombay Bad Boy? Best pot noodle ever.

blah blah blah

It's not what's being done, it's the manner in which it's being done, with scant regarding for the fans who were the lifeblood of the club when it was on its arse.

A point which seems to be lost on you as they can do no wrong as long as you can keep helping them build new bits.

Please tell me where in this thread I have said blah blah blah???

And I have been involved in no work at the stadium for 10 years.

This isnt aimed at you but as youve mentioned the checks

Me and my dad got searched with the metal detector wand thing they have however my mum didnt. Excuse was there isnt enough females to do the search when i asked why only males were being searched. If your going to search people shouldnt everyone be searched?

My daughter (to be fair she is 11 and an unlikely terrorist) walked in at 3.05 with her football kit bag that you could have carried a body in. The guys with the detectors were just chatting and didn't stop her.

I didn't see the point if it's not being done efficiently. 20-30 people in front of me were meticulously bodychecked (frisked?). Then when the lines got too long, they just got a new order to let everyone in no checks needed. I went in simply by flashing my card. The ones before me had their cuffs and knees squeezed.

I mean, what's the whole point? If they really want to, at least do it right. Have a system in place, not have a crowd at the gates.

Ridiculous the searches. My lad walked up with plastic bag with drinks and bits in whilst I was being frisked by another guy. The guy checks my son's bag then stops him again and says can I see your ticket - I mean wtf? I chose the moment to explain he didn't have a ticket but just wanted to stand outside the ground with a plastic bag, he didn't see the funny side, at which point I just tutted and wandered over to the turnstiles. The guys are idiots on a powertrip, it's pathetic.

Noticed that a few weeks ago. So, any terrorist reading this thread, if you're planning on sneaking a bomb in, just get there late.

we got there early yesterday for once ! going in my young son had a plastic bag with crisps ,tango and my pie in it,the security guy just said " yeah that's ok " with a quick glance ! I got the metal detector device treatment along with everybody else

during the game behind me there were 2 young Scottish lads ,they opened several red stripe lager cans through the course of the game, bringing plastic cups to pour them into after the start of the second half ! how the frig did they get through that metal detector thingy ? iv done it the past bringing a can in with me ,and bring a hip flask on cold night matches butdont know how they managed to get them in
