Metallica put on a great show but will get the usual put down that they don't belong.
Well if Lily fuckin Allen is your level you can shove it up your arse.
Metalica don't belong.
It isn't fkin Donnington!
Don't talk shite Phil. Every genre of music is, or should be, represented at Glastonbury. Does Dolly Parton belong?

Lauren Laverne in black stockings/tights. Oh yes.

To anyone who has been or is there now,

What is it that makes Glastonbury so good? Apparently half the people don't go for the music. I understand that getting pissed is fun (to a point), but I wouldn't fancy a hangover in one of those portaloos. I've never done drugs, I imagine that's good to a point too. Who wants to spend 3 days in a muddy field watching a couple of bands you like? There must be more to it.

Seriously, I don't understand why everyone says Glastonbury is so good, and would love to be enlightened?

Metallica were excellent, i don't get people who aren't into metal but hey oh everyone is different, going to see them at sonisphere along with iron maiden, slayer etc. with the great unwashed. Drinking beer and having fun.

Metal is huge all over the world. Glad they were on at Glastonbury most of the crowd seemed to enjoy it , and they didn't get stuff thrown at them.

I will ask my Niece when she gets back tomorrow

As a metal afficionado, I think Eavis should have approached Maiden, rather than Metallica. I thought it a shame the pyro for One wasn't allowed, and I thought you could feel the tension in their performance - which every other night of the tour is a crowd that big but without the question mark over audience receptiveness. They did creditably well though, watching the BBC show.

it's the 'feel good' vibe.
It's like being in a different world almost from what I remember, back in the day.
