Glastonbury 2023

tbf I'm enjoying GnR, seems to be having some mic issues when he goes off on a wander.

But his screaming on Welcome to the Jungle can't have been easy at his age.

The opening guitar tease was great as well.

Though anybody expecting them to be 1990s GnR is just being a tad silly :)

They should have had an afternoon 'legends' spot. Their status as 'headliners' ended many, many years ago.
Rick Astley's midday performance was more worthy of a headline spot than a half-hearted GnR set.
To be honest, Lizzo would have been a better headline act.

Turned up 30 minutes late and had to cut the set before she did her most popular songs.

I don't even know how she can turn up 30 minutes late for her set, you have to be on site all day usually because tour buses and whatever is transporting gear have scheduled slots for arrival and departure because of the chaos of the backstage and loading areas. So its not like she wouldn't have been there for hours.

I don't know, the crowd seemed to be loving GnR.

They've never been my cup of tea but just look how the crowd reacted to some worldwide classics throughout their set. That's why they're headlining. That's why they sell out stadiums worldwide.

Lizzo couldn't pull that off, lets be honest, most people couldn't name 3 songs of hers.

Matter of opinion, I'm not sure why you say it is half-hearted, think that is very harsh tbh.

Rick Astley delivered a good set but was hardly headline-worthy, it was fun but come on ffs.

I'd rather cut my ears off and spoon my eyes out than listen and watch Lizzo.

GNR were decent. I've seen various forms of the band over the years and last night was better than some performances years ago.

There's been a legends spot on Sunday afternoon for many years. Maurice Gibb and Dolly Parton being a couple of the recent ones. Headliners you can take or leave there's plenty of other stages to watch

Blondie this year I think

I've no idea how they sound these days but they've a lot of great songs, so as long as they sound decent, it should be good.

Ye she blamed it on her hair taking too long. I call bollocks, she most probably had a diva hissy fit over not having enough blue smarties or someat

I take that back. Just had a look at their Isle of Wight set from last week on YouTube

Absolutely dreadful, I don't think Debs hit one note in tune. Then again she's 77..

Yeah sorry mate that wasnt directed at you more into the ether! Iv met the organisers years ago and I said the same thing to them! There's so much quality music out these days in my opinion a bigger range and more artists than ever before so it would be so easy to choose modern headliners
No probs M16, I'm not a huge GnR fan, back as a 15yo I was but my music tastes are far to weird for Glastonbury headline slots nowadays.
My favourite, Sophie Hunger made the John Peel Stage in 2010 lol
