Mate I'm in/was in the same boat.

You'll be fine... being a City supporter is different to the Rags/Liverpool. It's a community... actually scratch that, a family.

But the whole attitude of a select bunch of fans of "if you weren;t born in an M psotcode, there's no way you can be passionate about City", stinks.

Don't mind the idea of glory hunters or tourist fans that much. Obviously the levels are completely different, but coming from York I've always gone to a few York City games - they tend to be lucky to get 1.5k on a Saturday afternoon, but when I went down to see them play at Stoke they took more than 4k. Obviously these would be counted 'tourists' but every single one of them was singing the whole match, completely drowned out the Britannia stadium - their fans were sh*te in comparison. I think maybe it's the bit of success and the big matches that bring the armchair fans out and get them really into the club - especially in this day and age when it can cost a right load going to matches regularly. More money to the club (needed with UEFA rules trying to hamstring City) and more people getting into seeing City regularly - I can't see a down side.

Lads wearing ugg boots can f*ck right off, mind.
