It's the opposite of unprofessional actually.
If the game is won then it's an opportunity to practice holding possession and avoid conceding a goal: to kill the game.
When we're in a cup final and 1-0 up with 5 minutes to go maybe you will see this as professional.

We played(obviously), won, drew, lost and conceded exactly the same and had exactly the same points as Chelsea last season yet they scored 9 more goals than us. That meant we finised third not second. No but Arsenal fell to pieces. Spurs didn't. Our's was actually the more impressive performance and result considering the opposition IMHO.
FFS we beat Tottenham 5-1 at the Lane and it's still not good enough???
