I have never understood why over head kicked goals are seen as that great,in essence you are kicking with your back to goal more in hope than any level of skill,the same with back heels,a curler from outside the box into the top corner is much more impressive.

Do it nine times out a a hundred and I'll begin to believe it's part of a player's repetoire. Until then a lucky strike! Even Joe Hart can do it so it can't be all that spectacular! Come to think of it why didn't Joe try the overhead instead of trying to head it over the keeper. We'd still be in the Europa if he have given it a second's thought!

No, goal of the year is usually decided on the basis of strength, skill and movement leading up to the goal like Neymar's which won the 2011 goal of the year.

That Neymars goal is different class, questionable defending, well its that questionable that I wouldn't even call it defending.

Goal of the year will even be one of Rooneys penalties or a wonder goal from Cleverley in training.

Including him. Messi is the better player, he's stronger, smarter, works harder, has an eye for a pass, pretty much better at everything apart from the things I listed.
