goalie fights fan

fair play to the keeper. he was under attack and retaliated. fair enough.
well done to the gaffer who dragged his team off the pitch, i would love to think bobby would do the same.
ref is not really an idiot, but bound by the laws of the game. any act of physical violence is punishable by red card. that is the law of the game.
are the laws wrong, probably in this instant, but the ref had no option but to red card the keeper.
there was something similar a few months back, where a player assaulted a fan in defence, and was also sent off.
but still, fair play to the keeper and the manager. i would have done the same.

Well, as much as I agree that keeper should jump on his head for certain amount of time (like 10-15 minutes for ex.) referee did what he had to do by rules.

It was not first time the players got involved in fight with pitch invaders, and it was not first time they were sent off.

Referee is not one to be blamed for.

Ref might have been well within his rights to do that but if I were Alkmaar I'd never step on the same pitch as that official ever again. Would never be able to respect him.

The rule is stupid as it only need a **** to invade a pitch and attack the player to get him sent off (anyone would fight back of course) but they really should not be mad on ref. He has to do what laws of the game are saying should be done in such cases.

he booted the guy twice when he was on the floor ffs. If he'd kicked him whilst he was running at him and let the stewards get him afterwards he wouldn't have been sent off.

Absolutely shocking refereeing decision it was merely self-defense good on the keeper to react the way he did. I'm guessing that fan was a skinhead and didn't approve of the keeper's skin color.

Fair play to the keeper and manager on doing the right thing there. So this means that AZ will be awarded a 3-0 win according to the laws of the game right?

Whilst it looks ridiculous to have sent him off, its most likely in the rules that he had to, so if that's the case what choice did the ref have?
And its NOT self defence, that passed as soon as the guy hit the floor. From then on it was assault from the keeper. Kicking someone whilst they're on the floor is one of the single most shit head things you can do during a fight, followed closely behind attacking someone from behind like the **** of an ajax fan appeared to do. Don't be thinking the keeper is all sweetness and light though. If I was him I'd be fucking well ashamed of myself as currently there is a video of him kicking someone whilst they're on the floor. Shitheads trick.

If someone walked into your office and attempted to beat the shite out of you, would you wait for security to arrive? Or would you protect yourself until you felt safe?

You don't kick people whilst they're down, its really simple.
