Kepa being linked with leverkusen who are also supposed to be chasing ortega.
He may end up staying.
Think he goes this summer to be a number 1 somewhere. He won’t be number 1 here even with Ederson off.

We don't have a goalkeeper issue,as the trophy cabinet will testify, only issue is probably both our keeps have decided it's time for them to leave.
No it’s not remotely like that, you are talking one summer I’m talking over 8 years. That's like saying we had no squad problems last summer because we just won the title.
Probably cost prohibitive but I'd love to bring Trafford back as the 2 for a myriad of reasons
Didn’t kick on????We haven’t had a goalkeeper improve or even stay at their top level since Mancisidor became the GK coach and I doubt that will change.
Ederson arrived at City 90% of the way to being the best goalkeeper in the world and with the potential to be one of the best ever. His shot stopping needed some work but he had great reflexes and he was bad at 1v1s because he overcommits - but 10 years on he’s never improved the things he’s bad at in order to kick on, if anything they’ve got worse, exactly what happened to Hart when he came under Mancisidor. Ortega has gone backwards rapidly too.
Maybe Hart just got too big headed, maybe Ederson is too Brazilian and cares more about enjoying life than being the best (perfectly valid life choice IMO), maybe Bravos confidence was broken permanently (although like hart & Steffen it came back away from city), maybe steffen was never good enough (although he’s playing really well again now) maybe Ortega was always going to regress when he went from starter to backup. Starting to get too long a list to be coincidental in my eyes though.
Sorry to be a Debbie downer, negative Nancy etc but our issue at GK is not the players IMO.
Heads turnedSimple keep eddy
Simple keep eddy
He isn't saying he's crap, he's saying he's declined over his time with us.Didn’t kick on????
He’s been at the foundation of the system and being a mean 8 across his skill set makes him the stand out keeper of the last decade… the game was always going to evolve whilst in post but I’d hazard a guess, much like Kasper’s analysis recently, he is the figure all up and coming keepers try to emulate…
Totally bemused by your overview; alas though, a player is always easier to attack when on the downturn…. Fine margins are what elevated his stature and there’s been no better to do it in his time with us, ludicrous to assert he was simply ‘steady eddie’….
You don't win what we have without your keeper performing and several have under Mancisidor. That's just the reality of it.We haven’t had a goalkeeper improve or even stay at their top level since Mancisidor became the GK coach and I doubt that will change.

No he isn't saying that. he said never improved which is a long way from true.Even now he is a better keeper than when he arrived. He isn't saying he's crap, he's saying he's declined over his time with us.
I don't think that's a controversial view.
Don't agree, I think he's been declining for several years now.No he isn't saying that. he said never improved which is a long way from true.Even now he is a better keeper than when he arrived.
You don't win trebles with goalkeeper in decline, you just don’t. Same with a premier league.Don't agree, I think he's been declining for several years now.

He was here before Pep so speaks volumes to just how highly he is rated.
So not only are our coaches not that great they can’t coach very simple things according t9 you. Yes that'll be right. And yet despite that I’ve seen worse and more error from the so called best in the world down the road. His job is to improve the goalkeepers and I don't believe he's done that. Ederson has always been rash, it's the one thing he's needed to improve in order to become world class. Instead it's remained an issue he's not overcome. He had some excellent performances in the treble season but was still guilty of the same lack of composure at times. Even in the CL final he gave the ball away in the first half and luckily we weren't punished, before then pulling off some excellent saves in the second half. In other CL games, he continued to show a lack of composure with more risky passes putting us in trouble and leading us to give the ball away.
Very simple things I'd expect a good coach to address.
Xabi isn't sat on the bench controlling Ederson like he's playing FIFA on the playstation. Ederson is ultimately going to do what he thinks is right in the situation, he's human. A bit of a nutter, has a specific way he wants to play and you live and die by it.His job is to improve the goalkeepers and I don't believe he's done that.
