Goals on Sunday.

The media love them. It's all this "Great English managers" bollocks and "If only they were given a chance at a bigger club." Cheeky chappies always good for a quip, a rant and a story. To give them some credit they go into a club struggling, get it organised and win promotion. That's it though, end of story. Watching Brighton today and it shows how a manager can get a club playing decent football with limited resources.
I bet the Brighton fans are starting to enjoy football again .Hughton got a bit negative in the end

Watched the Leicester Villa game yesterday. A great game between two teams who played passing football from defence to attack. Colin Wanker and his dinosaur pals must have been gutted.

Warnock epitomises everything that is wrong with English football. He's held up as some sort of expert as is Allardyce. But both of them achieved nothing significant in their careers as players or managers. Their style of football drove millions of fans away from football in the 80s and 90s. Celebration of failure is a bit of a cult in this country.
Eddie the Eagle doesn't agree with you.

I am watching this at the moment and Warnock is on the sofa. Fairly entertaining and no doubt he is a character, but he just cannot help himself, every chance he gets he mentions us in a negative way.

First dig came when talking about his achievements. He mentioned that his promotion sides still have reunions ten years down the line. " I can't see Man City having a reunion ten years after winning the title, can you?"

Second one was as they're all raving about Son's great goal he says, " If that was Man City they would have fouled him on the halfway line." followed by a big fucking grin. Just why?

Because he is a character, spelt **** The fellow can't help it, he was born a **** and if he went to school he was probably a ****there, and when he married his wife was probably asked 'Do you take this ****to be your lawful wedded husband . . . . . . ', and he has liberally heaped ****I S H N E S S upon himself with every breath he takes and every idiotic and moronic syllable he utters. He's another one who, when he expires, will be responsible for a run on the jellies 'n cream at every major British supermarket.

I have always thought of him to be quite eyebrow. :-)

I always thought a good measure of a successful manager would be to look at what their teams have actually won..

Top of my head, BFS has won a title with Notts County and got Bolton promoted through the playoffs once, other than that his claim to fame is finishing 17th or thereabouts in a 20 team division..

Apparently he's quite good at that..

Also to my knowledge, he is the only England manager with a 100% win record..

With these credentials, he's perfect to impress his opinion on everyone as to how shit the managers who actually win stuff are..!

In the late 60s and 70s the top football pundits were people like Clough and Malcolm Alison who were the modern coaches of the say. I don't remember seeing people from 20 years previously spouting off on TV (that would have meant football people from the 1940s and early 50s) We used to get lots of intelligent tactical analysis and BBC radio was also miles better in those days. I realise we have a 24/7 media these days but most of the content is totally moronic. I heard Tony Pulis doing a radio commentary on the Bournemouth v Liverpool game at the weekend. After 30 minutes he was asked his opinion on Liverpool so far and his reply was: *They need to get more crosses in." FFS how the hell did he make a living from football?
