Crosses are going to be more successful at times v deep defence as you eventually work the ball wide to stretch defence.

Yes, that's what we've been saying - but it certainly hasn't been our strategy.

You have to be patient against deep defences, something 90% of fans don't have.

Patient until you find that it's hardly working at all but other methods/adaptations could improve things.

I agree, what winds me up more is set pieces. When we have one in the oppositions half, rather than throw it in the box and see what happens, we pass it 5 yards sideways and the ball goes back the defence. Why do we keep doing this? These little passes have not got us anywhere all game (first half Swansea)! When we have thrown it into the box things have happened, Stoke and West Brom spring to mind! What makes it worse is Mario would rather win a freekick then runaway from the defender, and then Toure takes a quick one, and the ball ends up with Joe Hart.
