Going after CFG?

We have a new Premier League acronym FCAG - Financial Controls Advisory Group

Clubs represented:

City - Simon Cliff general counsel
United - Patrick Stewart general counsel
Arsenal - Stuart Wisely CFO
Villa - Christian Purslow CEO
Everton - Grant Ingles FD
Burnley - Alan Pace Chairman
Chelsea - Bruce Buck Chairman
Newcastle - Amanda Staveley Director

No Liverpool or Spuds.

At least we are close to the enemy. And Cliff through his legal experience with us is probably the most clued up of them all about the merits or otherwise of the legal issues.
Have I got this right, all Clubs mentioned have a suitably qualified Professional in post apart from the Rags who have a bloke from Star Trek:-)

It's so fucking annoying that City don't come out and say this openly, relying on people like me, Stefan and others to do it. How hard would it be for them to use part of Pep's next press conference to make a clear statement correcting these fictions?
Right now it’s a single DM article amongst the swathes of shit they publish, which all sit amongst the swathes of shit other press outlets publish.

If City directly and publicly address it, especially hijacking a portion of Pep’s presser to do so, it’ll be splashed across every front and back page in the country if not the continent.

The real battles are in courtrooms and we’re 1-0 up. I don’t see how it benefits the club to go grandstanding in a presser other than giving a 15 year old @BrunoSZN6969 the chance to try ‘ratio’ a City fan in the replies.

Bad press for us always seems to follow bad times down at the swamp. Why do we take it? Well the saying is not such thing as bad press!!! As much as we hate to read it. Regarding the ffp 3 if needed we will find a way round it if not we will go through the courts again. I'm sure every organisation is shit scared of the thought of taking us on in a court of law now and that will be in there thoughts wen trying to re Rigg these ffp rules.

Can anybody more learned than me give any plausible explanation as to why the hierarchy at City don’t publicly defend themselves against articles such as this and countless others.

I’m sure there is a reason as to why the club continues to maintain its silence in the face of so many unfounded allegations but I just don’t understand it.

Maybe they are not so arsed as we are about small minded journalists and petty club owners.

I know we are the figure head of it all but with several clubs running without the UKs openly hostile nature, do any of the other teams part of CFG get roundly slagged off or disrespected by their respective local press or have the other clubs crying foul against them?

Does CFG as one of many global companies or businesses in the owners portfolio make him worry about the tossers in this nation.

Every bit of shit thrown at us has been batted back and been dealt with, maybe they are just very chilled about this next bit of bollocks.

Different for us obviously as we are emotionally attached to anything City so attacks on us wound easily.

Fair enough in the owners interests but how about fighting back for the fans, the ones that actually have to live with it?
I am a fan, you are obviously a fan; the way to 'live with it' is not to read it and more importantly don't buy it. Buy a coffee instead. Dead easy, I haven't bought or read a newspaper in 20 years.

The "campaign" is from the competition - many clubs who even had the courtesy to identify themselves in the CAS letter. The briefing referencing (incorrect) aspects of related party and similar matters is clearly, almost word for word, from those "sources". This is why the story is so similar in numerous media outlets.

Unfortunately, the journalists don't have the necessary understanding of the subject matter to either ask the right questions to their sources or get the articles technically correct. It isn't that complicated but it is technical. The most egregious misunderstanding was that the PL never has had related party rules. This is nonsense - the rules have always been there. It's just unfortunate for football that the international accounting standard measure used doesn't do the trick for our competition. So that competition are desperate to prevent another team competing for Europe. Remember the difference is at least £75m (probably more) to the bottom line (profit) of a club between qualifying for the CL and not. That £75m of profit is easily worth £1bn of value (probably more) if it can be "guaranteed" and recurring. So Liverpool, United, Spurs, Arsenal etc are going to fight bloody hard to make it hard for someone to make it harder for them. Its natural, its even fair enough. But the journalists really shouldn't allow themselves to be used.

You have a brilliant knack for summarising key issues and the drivers behind the behaviour of the cartel clubs.

Have you ever posted any of this on the barcodes forums?
You never know, there might be a North-East journalist willing to listen now.

Before it was subterfuge from the other clubs but now it's more blatant than ever with the emergence of the threat caused by the Newcastle takeover.

Keep up the good work!

It’s definitely high time that we started ruining lives on the back of all this shit. It’s an absolute nailed on fact that the journo’s, media bosses, football administrators etc will have ‘dirty little secrets’ that would destroy them if they came out. Someone they shouldn’t be playing hide the sausage with, scandals in their past that have been hidden, financial impropriety, drug and alcohol related issues etc etc. We should make it personal, find the shit, spread the shit, ruin marriages, businesses, family relationships etc.

Let’s see if these shitstains fancy it after a dose of that.
