Last Sunday coming home from Swansea and after driving 230 miles+, negotiating several sets of roadworks and two accident delays I allegedly went through a traffic light on red on the East Lancs Road, 3 miles from home. I received the notice today and remembered it happening because I didn't actually go 'through' the lights. They changed as I was on top of them and I made the decision (foolishly as it turns out) to brake and came to a halt just on or after the white line, obviously I can't be certain because I didn't get out and check.
Has this happened to anyone else on here and, if so, what was the outcome? I assume that technically I'm guilty but it's a bit of a pisser because if I'd just gone through instead of slowing down and stopping the worst that would have happened is that I'd be eligible for a course. As it is, they say I was 3.4 seconds into the red and 2.9 seconds is the cut off for courses.
