Going to watch other clubs play

Coleraine (my hometown team in Northern Ireland) when home visiting family. Good friends with chairman, some board members and players. Also Carshalton Athletic in south London as it's only 15 minute walk from ours to ground.
Coleraine used to have a scouting connection to united years ago iirc? Kevin McGrath and maybe a couple of others came from there?

One with City as well can't remember guys name though. Never known one for them

Reminds me, I saw Altrincham lose 3-0 to Tottenham at Maine Road in an FA Cup replay in 1979, after a famous 1-1 draw at WHL.

Going a bit off topic but I think Alti might still be the last non league team to beat a top league team on their own ground, when they beat Birmingham in ‘86. David Seaman in nets for Birmingham that night I seem to recall.

I went to watch Crewe Alex half a dozen times. One game being against Norwich who had gotten promotion and was a really good atmosphere.

Lincoln beat burnley in 2017 and luton beat norwich in 2013

Fair enough. Alti held the record for 27 years then, which is still pretty good going.

Probably the most amazing thing about that Alti win was that Birmingham were such utter dog shit that it barely even registered as a shock at the time.

I was a Student in Kent and final day in 1989 went in the Birmingham end amongst their fancy dress lunatics at Palace. They were already down and didn’t give me much hope beforehand in the Pub and sure enough were 4-0 down by HT when the Pitch invasions etc started and the 2nd Half delayed etc. It ended up 5-1 but long before the end Morley had saved the day.

If you were to go to watch other clubs play in any division, who would you go to watch based on the football they’re playing and the innovation of the coaches. Brighton comes to mind and the bloke who’s joined Bournemouth sounds interesting. Any others lower down?
It’s impossible. I’ve tried to watch other teams, even PL sides, but they just come up short. Gameplay and tactics are awful.

I have a friend who supports Forest and I just can’t bear to watch them, they are garbage and I find myself just pointing out faults in their gameplay…like I’m some kind of tactical genius

Pep and City have ruined me…
