Why didn't Arsenal just pay the €40m for Higuain? Instead of making £40m bids for Suarez they could have had their player signed sealed and delevered.

Because Higuain is barely worth 20 million never mind 40 million. The guy is seriously one of the most overrated players in Europe.

a 40 million pound striker is world class and Higuain is not world class. He is a good striker on par with the likes of Negrado, Dzeko, Hernandez etc. But he is nowhere near as good as the likes of Aguero, Suarez, RVP etc.

IMO he reminds me of Adebayor at Arsenal as a striker who will score goals but miss a lot of crucial opportunities. I remember watching Madrid vs Dortmund in the CL and he should have scored at leat 3 in the first 10 mins but wasted them.

he's better than all 4 that you mentioned and plays for Madrid hence he's going to cost more to sign.
