Good Luck Hughesy - Stoke Sentinel

Hi all,

I am a reporter at The Sentinel and we are running several articles on Mark Hughes' appointment as the new Stoke City boss.

I would like to gather some opinion from fans of his former clubs and was hoping to hear from a Manchester City supporter.

If anyone is happy to provide some opinion on 'Sparky's' reign at City and his appointment at the Britannia Stadium then please send me an e-mail: dave.knapper@thesentinel.co.uk.

Thanks,
Dave

I'm just waiting for the first time he comes out with the immortal (and oft-used) statement that "My teams are always stronger in the 2nd half of the season".

Trouble is, he's usually not still around to see it happen.

Hughes is a manager who has created his own bubble of right and self importance.Inside this bubble are the same people who follow him around from job to job,Bowen etcetera.Inside the bubble they truly believe that everything they do is right and the best way and they can see no other way.Unfortunately for them results seem to prove differently.

The season he got sacked by us, my son had bought me a signed pic of Hughes for Christmas, it was a classic moment when i opened it (-;

We use to call him “technical naïve”
You will obviously know the meaning later.
Stoke have strong defense line up, that will really help a lot as defense cost him his job according to City chairman.

Following the excellent work by my fellow Prestwich blue, I've decided it would be an even more classy gesture if we took out an ad in The Stoke Sentinel wishing our ex-manager good luck in his new job.

I'm told we can have a half-page for 3 Guineas and a full one for 5 Guineas. We need to give them 2 months notice so they can cut the wooden blocks they need for the printing so I need to know quickly who is in for this.

Attached the 5 guineas for your noble gesture

I have fond memories of spark-less and recall with humour his motto's
its always someone else's fault that I am crap
where have you left the bung

a role model for yoof

Imagine someone lobbing a grenade into a group of people and watching them all panic. That's was our defence under Hughes every time a corner or free kick dropped in our box.

I tied my contribution to my carrier pigeon this morning.

How about this photo

And "Once a five fingered blue, always a five fingered blue"

Here's my contribution:
At City he spent a lot of money and didn't do very well
At QPR he spent a lot of money and didn't do very well

I think you'll find they need three months to carve it in to a headstone, they've a plot in the "Farewell to the Premier League" cemetery.

if Hughes wasn't a former Rag player he wouldn't have half the CV he currently has.

Gains jobs based on his playing career and his contacts within the game.

A Hollywood appointment by Stoke.

Bought some shit in his time.

Just as an aside, I saw on the TV this morning a reporter saying that one of the reasons why Stoke had signed clueless was his astute transfer dealings whilst at Blackburn and City "paying little money for the likes of Roque Santa Cruz". How the reporter kept a straight face I don't know.

Just caught the press conference and fuck me, could the sky reporter not lick his arse any more than he did?

Fucking laughable how a twat like this can be lauded as some sort of football success.

I liked him, we were in a terrible state when he took over. he did wonders behind the scenes to make our club more professional. he could of course only go so far with us as he wasn't appointed by our owners. there was uneasiness and results were showing it.
had to go i'm afraid. he will do a miles better job than pulis for stoke.

just for a laugh have a quick look at this thread.
