I think he did okay with the money he had, 06/07 was dreadful though.

Look at the players he was left with. Mills, Thatcher, Jordan, Sibierski, Sun Jihai, Macken, Fowler, Sommeil, Reyna, Musampa, Bradley Wright-Phillips, Lee Croft, Willo Flood, etc, players that aren't real Premiership quality. He didn't sign any of those players. Then a few months later we were forced to sell SWP not long after being forced to sell Anelka, and Pearce was left with not much money to spend, hence we had more shite players coming in. He made mistakes(eg Samaras) but every manager does in the transfer market.

With the team we had back then, the best we could hope for was Premiership survival, and he delivered that. Infact he gave 100% in the job every day he was here. We could so easily have gone down. Which would have meant no Abu Dhabi takeover. So thank you Stu!

Did exactly what was asked of him by keeping us up with a negative transfer budget, not the right circumstances to judge whether hes a good manager overall, best of luck to him though.

he seems to be doing well with the U21s but I still think he's got a screw lose.

don't think he'll ever be world class but he's certainly come a long way since relying on stuffed toys to win him games.
