Good restaraunt in town for lunch?

Best place I have been to of late, but lets face it Manchester is a culinary wilderness, how a city of this size has no Michelin starred restaurants is pretty embarrassing!

That's a very good place to eat.

Michelin stars are generally given for fine dining which is not to everyones taste. Stayed at Whatley Manor in the Cotswolds recently, which has two. Great hotel and the food is very nice, but I'd still rather eat at San Carlos -or Cicchett's as a great place for lunch

Tevez has already told us Manchester is shit

Where do you suggest where we should go for fine dining?

I have recently returned from a culinary tour of Mallorca and dined at this place which was as good a meal as I have eaten

It's a bit far for a lunch trip.

Closer to home, I like the Market Resturant in Manchester city centre and had a ood meal at the Belles of Peover in Cheshire. As I said for a city this size we don't have enough stand out places.

I can't see myself visiting Mallorca for a good while, unless we draw then in the Champs League, but i would appreciate your opinion on where to eat in Manchester.
the market is on my list to visit, but i'm sure a high roller like yourself could point me in the better direction.

Sadly not. For me personally the dearer/supposedly better restaurants in Manchester are pretty poor. For example places like Rosso etc are just glorified pizza expresses but twice the price. Jamies Italian was good and pretty reasonable, I have also had some great meals at Room and have taken quite a few girls there on first dates and it's a nice place to go with your other half. Grill on the Alley/Grill on Ney York street are pretty decent too.....but as I said nowhere really stands out for me.

More importantly

Where did you go on the second date?

Or was that it?
