Goodbye from Edin

...and he was dining at 'Mr Wings' years before the tactical turtle had ever heard of it!
Edin Dzeko - the trendsetter.

Edin Dzeko dismissed suggestions of a fallout with Manchester City as he set his sights on silverware with new club Roma at his official unveiling.

The Bosnia-Herzegovina international striker completed a season-long loan move to the Italian club on Wednesday, with a view to a permanent transfer.

Dzeko told a press conference: 'I didn't have any problems with anyone.
'City are a top club with lots of brilliant players in every position and I was also hampered by injury problems after getting off to a good start.

'I'm in good shape now and I want to do my best for this team.

'I came here because I've been following Roma since (international team-mate Miralem) Pjanic joined. They have a big project for the future with some fantastic players.

'I'm very happy to be here and to help the club reach its targets.'

He continued: 'I had four fantastic years in Manchester. We won trophies and there were lots of exciting moments.

'Perhaps that's the difference between City and Roma at the moment, their success in winning things. But if we all work hard, hopefully we can do something similar here at Roma.

'I played against this team in the Champions League last year and I thought they were an excellent side. And this year I think it's even stronger than last.'

Roma finished runners-up in Serie A last season, 17 points behind champions Juventus.

Dzeko added: 'I followed the team's progress closely last year. I think Roma had an excellent first half of the season, then I don't know what happened afterwards.

'There's a stronger roster now and we want to try and win things. To do that we all have to stick together.'

Rudi Garcia's team begin their 2015/16 campaign at Verona next Saturday.

Goodbye Dzeko! I think fans will remember you more fondly than when you were actually playing. I think he did struggle mentally when he isn't the main guy. If he is the main target, he can truly lead the team just like he showed in 2013-14 season when he virtually willed the team to victory over the last 6-7 games of the season. Good luck Edin. I will obviously follow your career at Roma as well. It will be interesting if Roma play us in the Champions league, what kind of reception Edin will get from the fans. I hope he will be honored in some way.

He will get a good reception as we give all our ex players

He hasn't disrespected the club when he left so he should get a warm reception if we do play Roma.

He wouldnt be able to play as hes on loan :-)

Top fella, always seemed to have a smile on his face when he appeared on City TV and scored some of the most important goals I have ever witnessed. I personally will always be grateful. Cheers Edin, best of luck mate.
